  • Patent number: 11834247
Abstract: The fluid container has a first and second flexible membrane forming at least one chamber, a channel configured to receive pressurized inert gas, and one or more check valve assemblies disposed therebetween. The one or more check valve assemblies is formed from a continuous third flexible membrane folded at an apex, and configured to provide the flow of pressurized fluid in one direction upon inflation, from the channel to the at least one chamber, while restricting flow in the opposite direction. The one or more check valve assemblies are characterized in that they do not require pre-printing or electronic registering, thus allowing for an inflation flow rate of at least twice that of conventional inflatable packaging systems.

  • Patent number: 10478288
Abstract: A mechanical prosthetic heart valve having a ring, multiple hinges, and multiple leaflets. The hinges are attached to the ring and are evenly spaced from one another along the inner circumference of the ring. Each leaflet is rotably attached to a hinge by an opening located in the center of the lower portion of the leaflets. The ring can include multiple protrusions located along the inner circumference of the ring. The protrusions of the ring limit the opening angle of the leaflets. By limiting the opening angle of the leaflets, wear and tear of the hinges and leaflets, as well as the probability of malfunction of the mechanical prosthetic heart valve are reduced. In addition, limiting the opening angle of the leaflets may increase the opening and closing speed of the leaflets, thus improving performance of the mechanical prosthetic heart valve when the patient is experiencing an elevated cardiac frequency.

  • Patent number: 10295070
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a rotary check valve, which utilizes the rotation of a rotary element to open and close the valve, rather than pivoting of hinge flappers, such as in other check valve designs. The rotary element is rotatably mounted to a valve plate which features shrouded openings that define windows. A plurality of vanes extending from the rotary element are used to close or open the windows in response to a reverse or forward fluid flow, respectively. This action opens or closes the valve. This design may reduce the force exerted on the valve components when the valve opens and closes, when compared to a pivoting hinge flapper design.
