  • Patent number: 11971026
Abstract: An improved air compressor is provided. The air compressor includes a cylinder block having a head deck that defines a piston bore for reciprocal movement of a piston therein. The head deck further includes first and second ramped surfaces that slope downward toward the peripheral edge of the piston bore. A valve plate is in direct contact with the upper surface of the head deck, the valve plate having a leaf valve. During an intake stroke of the piston, the leaf valve deflects downward into direct engagement with the first and second ramped surfaces. Because the air compressor lacks a lower gasket between the valve plate and the head deck, the cost and assembly time associated with the lower gasket are eliminated.

Abstract: A system and method for accessing and treating the cerebrospinal fluid with a multilumen catheter configured for placement along a cerebrospinal fluid pathway and a subcutaneous, dual reservoir/pump. The subcutaneous dual reservoir/pump allows simultaneous, bidirectional cerebrospinal fluid access and cerebrospinal fluid exchange. The two chambers prevent mixing of newly treated and discardable cerebrospinal fluid. The subcutaneous dual reservoir/pump can be used inline with other cerebrospinal fluid devices. The catheter may be coupled with a medical probe that sends a wire to a computational device, which can then send wireless data and receive wireless instructions. A method of assessing cerebrospinal fluid infections is provided, whereby monitoring of the cerebrospinal glucose concentrations with a cerebrospinal glucose sensor and analysis of the data by a computational device can notify a patient or medical provider of an impending infection.

  • Patent number: 10260823
Abstract: A pressure and/or temperature relief header for use in an HVAC heat transfer coil includes a main body adapted to be secured to bends in fluid coils of the HVAC fluid tube system. The main body includes holes in alignment with holes formed in the bends to enable liquid to pass from the bends into the expansion relief header. The expansion relief headers include a pressure release valve that automatically opens, preferably in response to pressure exceeding a predetermined threshold value or temperature falling below a predetermined value, to release liquid from the expansion relief header and then reseats. A discharge housing collects liquid released through the pressure release valve. A sensor detects the presence of liquid in the discharge housing.

  • Patent number: 10260650
Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements of valves of the cartwheel type, with receptive arrangements incorporating the valves, which comprise a component of elastomeric material in the form of a cartwheel fastened by means of the external ring to the valve case. The invention comprises a central plug connected by rods to the external ring and, normally, when used in two-way casings (with only one inlet and one outlet), the valve acts as a unidirectional valve. When used in a three-way casing, or a casing with more than three thereof, the valve can act to seal off and let through a flow of fluid on either side of the valve, alternately, depending on the fluid-circulation design choice.

  • Patent number: 10246971
Abstract: A valve assembly for a plug to close off a zone in the well for further treatment above the plug features a valve member initially pinned in an open position where flow up to a predetermined level can move through without dislodging the valve plug to move to its associated seat. If the perforating gun misfires a replacement gun can be run in with flow as the plug is still retained in the position for flow through the plug. On the other hand flow around the plug above a predetermined level will shear retainers for the plug and let the plug land on its seat closing flow in a downhole direction for treatment.
