More specifically, the distance of the compartments walls from those of the riser vary (i.e., increase or decrease) at different locations surrounding the riser. Put another way, the riser is closer to one side of the compartment than other sides of the compartment. This non-concentric configuration allows larger components to fit inside the compartment than would otherwise fit if the riser was symmetrically surrounded by the compartment.

Abstract: A flow control assembly for a fire sprinkler system includes a valve housing having an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The valve housing defines a fluid flow path that extends between the inlet opening and the outlet opening. A flow control valve is disposed within the fluid flow path. A swing check valve is disposed within the fluid flow path of the valve housing downstream from the flow control valve. The swing check valve includes a clapper that is connected to an actuator arm. An electrical switch is disposed outside of the valve housing. A mechanical linkage includes a first end that extends through the valve housing and engages with the actuator arm. The mechanical linkage also includes a second end that is coupled to the electrical switch. The first end translates with said actuator arm.

Abstract: A contaminated solvent recycling system is disclosed and claimed. The system comprises a distillation vessel having an upper distillation zone and a separate, lower, waste collection zone. A heater heats contaminated solvent feed within the distillation zone to distill off the solvent. By separating the distillation zone from the waste collection zone, the distillation zone can process consecutive batches of contaminated solvent feed. The waste collection zone can accommodate waste accumulating from the distillation process for extended periods of time between waste removal operations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flow adjustment valve (1) comprising a valve housing (2) having a flow channel (3) and a pipe stub (10), disposed at an angle to the flow channel (3). A throttle unit (6) is arranged in the flow channel (3) and comprises a throttle element (8) that can be actuated through the pipe stub (10). The flow adjustment valve also comprises two measuring points (14, 15) for detecting the pressure in the flow channel (3) at both sides of a throttle arrangement, each of which measuring points being connected to a pressure measuring connection (17) via a pressure measuring channel (26, 27). The aim of the invention is to improve the design options for a flow adjustment valve of the aforementioned type. For this purpose, at least one pressure measuring channel (26) is guided through the pipe stub (10).

Abstract: A system and method for detecting leaks in pressurized or vacuum pipes is disclosed. A pipe clamp comprises a housing that surrounds a pipe fitting. A containment chamber within the pipe clamp prevents leaked gas from escaping into the environment. The pipe clamp is installed in series with an exhaust line to remove the leaked gas from the containment chamber. A sensor may be configured and disposed to detect a change in pressure in the containment chamber to indicate the occurrence of a leak.
