Abstract: Connectivity loss on a storage network may be reliably determined. For one or more host ports connected to a storage system, the frequency with which status communications are received from the host port may be determined. Status communications from a host port then may be monitored to determine if a predefined number of status communications within a predefined period of time have not been received. If so, it may be determined whether a change in storage system permissions concerning use of ports potentially caused the one or more status communications to not be received. If not, it may be determined whether one or more communications associated with a change in configuration of a switch have been received, in which case a predefined amount of time may be allowed to pass to allow the switch change communications to complete; after which status communications from the host port may again be monitored.

Abstract: The Sewer Back-flow Preventer Monitor is a device designed to be an add-on to a sewer back-flow preventer valve, otherwise known as a backwater valve. It offers a higher level of protection against flood than that which is offered by a sewer backwater valve without any such device. It uses digital and/or analog electrical sensors, magnetically linked to the flapper, to determine the precise flapper position of a backwater valve and will warn a user of a municipal sewer backup and or back-flow. As well, it will provide an alert when a cleaning is necessary and informs users when a sewer backwater valve has successfully closed during an event. It is a cost effective solution.

  • Patent number: 10502455
Abstract: A system to reduce standby losses in a hot water heater is presented. The system utilizes a dual safety relay valve between the combination gas controller and the burner. The dual safety relay valve bypasses gas to a rotary damper actuator valve to position a damper flapper valve located over/inside the flue pipe. Once the flapper valve has opened to ensure combustion, the gas is allowed to flow back to the dual safety relay valve. Some of the bypass gas may be diverted to boost the pilot or to supply a booster. The dual safety relay valve is then opened to allow the gas supply to the burner. Once the burner is turned off, bypass gas bleeds out of the rotary damper actuator valve to close the damper flapper valve to reduce standby losses through the flue pipe, and to allow the dual safety relay valve to close tightly.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve for a pressurized fluid system in which a compression spring is used to seal a compression shaft in communication with a front bushing having a O-ring seal is provided. The relief valve automatically relieves overpressure conditions and automatically resets to a closed, leak proof after an overpressure event subsides. The compression shaft is also in communication with an indicator pin, which is pushed out of the body of the relief valve during an overpressure event, and remains pushed out until manually reset, thus indicating that an overpressure event has occurred, even after the overpressure event has subsided.

Abstract: A gas regulator includes a valve block, a pressure regulating assembly, and a metal coil. The valve block includes an input gateway, an output gateway, and a pressure reducing chamber. The metal coil is provided in the pressure reducing chamber. The pressure regulating assembly includes a membrane provided in the pressure reducing chamber, a movable member connected to the membrane, and a shielding member connected to the movable member, wherein the movable member has a magnetic element received in the metal coil. The membrane deforms with gas pressure changes of a connected gas source, and makes the movable member move the shielding member to change an output gas flow of the input gateway. The magnetic element is then moved relatively to the metal coil to generate an induced emf, which precisely indicates the gas pressure changes of the gas source.

Abstract: A system and method for safely enabling the delivery of at least one gas line to at least one point of use in a facility by using a vacuum system and a gas delivery system wherein the gas delivery system is housed within the vacuum system is disclosed herein. An interior volume of a conduit containing therein at least one gas line is maintained at reduced pressure as one end of the gas line connects to a gas source and another end of the gas line connects to a point of use. By using a conduit to enclose the individual gas lines and using a single feed line for each gas, the embodiments disclosed herein reduce the number of individual gas lines that need to be run through a facility.

Abstract: An isolation manifold includes a manifold body, a process connection at a first end of the manifold body, a pressure transmitter connection at a second end of the manifold body, a passageway through the manifold body, an isolation valve, and a pressure limiting device. The process connection is for fluidly connecting the isolation manifold to a process vessel or conduit containing a process fluid. The pressure transmitter connection is for fluidly connecting the isolation manifold to a pressure transmitter. The passageway fluidly connects the process connection to the pressure transmitter connection. The isolation valve is operable to selectively block the passageway to isolate the process connection from the pressure transmitter connection. The pressure limiting device fluidly connects to the passageway between the isolation valve and the pressure transmitter connection. The manifold may preferably include a pressure snubber within the passageway to increase the flow impedance of the passageway.

The purging device is installed in the condensate drain line of an air conditioning system allowing condensate flow through the device during normal operation where no clog has occurred in the condensate drain line. Should the drain line become clogged, a plug is displaced to seal the condensate drain causing the condensate to back-up up into the external condensate drain pan located beneath the condenser of conventional HVAC systems. When the drain pan fills with water, the safety float switch used to shut down the air conditioner is coupled to a solenoid valve mounted on the purging device wherein a charge of gas is directed into the drain line for removal of the clog.
