Serial Patents (Class 137/565.3)
  • Patent number: 6755625
Abstract: An inlet throttle valve for supplying liquid to a high-pressure pump has a fully open start position and an operating range where flow through the valve is determined by a pressure balance of a valving member independent of the pressure of oil supplied to the inlet throttle valve. The valve includes a hydraulic stop limiting closing movement of the valving member. The valve may be used to flow low-pressure oil to a high-pressure pump for supplying high-pressure oil to HEUI injectors or other components of an internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 6505644
Abstract: A dual barrel jet fuel pump assembly for a fuel tank in a vehicle includes a reservoir adapted to be disposed in a primary side of the fuel tank and having a top defining an overflow fuel level of the reservoir. The dual barrel jet fuel pump assembly also includes a first conduit conducting return fuel from an engine of the vehicle to the reservoir and a second conduit extending to an auxiliary side of the fuel tank. The dual barrel jet fuel pump assembly further includes a dual barrel jet pump disposed in the reservoir and having a first inlet operatively connected to the first conduit and a second inlet operatively connected to said second conduit to fill the reservoir with fuel from the primary side and auxiliary side of the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 6505641
Abstract: A device for an arrangement inside a fuel tank, provided with pumps and filters for supplying and filtering fuel that is fed to an internal combustion engine, whereby the fuel is conveyed from the bottom area of the tank through a first filter into a collector chamber and fuel is conveyed from said collector chamber by means of a second pump through a second filter to the internal combustion chamber. Both pumps are arranged in a pump unit. The collector chamber is arranged vertically above the pump unit and the filter with respect to the fitting position of the device and is embodied as an open overflow container, whereby the inventive device can be produced in a rational manner and offers good functionality.

  • Patent number: 6494226
Abstract: A fuel transfer apparatus for providing fuel to a vehicle engine from a plurality of fuel tanks. A transfer pump is positioned intermediate a pair of fuel tanks and is operable to transfer fuel therebetween. Fuel is provided to the engine from a first one of the two fuel tanks. Excess fuel is returned to the first one of the two fuel tanks. When the level in the first fuel tank is less than the level in the second fuel tank by a predetermined amount, the transfer pump transfers an amount of fuel from the second fuel tank to the first fuel tank. Fuel level sensors are utilized to monitor the level of fuel in the two fuel tanks and report to a microprocessor which controls the transfer pump. The microprocessor utilized to control the transfer pump may be incorporated into the transfer pump, may be a stand alone microprocessor, or may comprise an existing vehicle circuit board such as, e.g., the electronic control module (ECM).

  • Patent number: 6397873
Abstract: Method and apparatus for temporarily increasing the transport capacity of the water supply system in case of a calamity, in which despite the occurrence of a calamity an amount of drinking water is to be transported to the service area of a pumping station or transport line which has failed. In case of a calamity, at least one mobile apparatus for raising the pressure in the transport line is temporarily connected to the residual supply system to take over the failing transport function. The apparatus has a transportable housing with a pump coupled to a motor, comprising means for setting the pump on two sides into communication with a water transport line via connecting lines, and has a capacity sufficient for deployment in a municipal, regional or still larger water supply system.

  • Patent number: 6382249
Abstract: A vacuum exhaust system comprising a vacuum chamber; means for introducing a gas into the vacuum chamber; a main pump for exhausting the vacuum chamber and reducing a pressure of the vacuum chamber to a desired pressure; an auxiliary pump disposed downstream from the main pump; and piping for connecting them, wherein an outer diameter of connecting piping as a connection between the main pump and the auxiliary pump is ½ inch (12.7 mm) or less; and a length of the connecting piping and capability of the auxiliary pump are combined so that a back pressure of the main pump becomes 5 Torr or more. This vacuum exhaust system can realize cost reduction through a saving in entire space, simplification of piping construction work, and so on.
