  • Patent number: 6619616
Abstract: In a solenoid valve device, a housing has a stopper formed on an inner wall of a fluid passage around an axial end of an accommodation bore. A valve seat member fixed to an inner circumferential wall of the fluid passage has a through-hole causing an input port to communicate with a drain port, a communication bore causing the through-hole to communicate with an output port and first and second valve seats formed around both ends of the through-hole, respectively. A movable member has a contact portion accommodated in the fluid passage between the stopper and the second valve seat. A ball is arranged on an opposite side to the contact portion with respect to the valve seat member. When the movable member moves with a movable core, the contact portion resting at the stopper or the second valve seat defines reciprocating moving stroke of the movable member.

Abstract: A method and a device for the supply of electrical loads in or on a pneumatic device with electrical power energy. The pneumatic device is connected by way of a pneumatic line with a source of pressure. The transmission of power energy to the pneumatic device takes place using acoustic waves, microwaves, changes in pressure or a flow of gas in the pneumatic line. Conversion of such transmitted energy into the electrical supply energy occurs in or on the pneumatic device. This means that electrical lines for electrical power supply may be dispensed with and that the transmission of energy takes place only by way of the pneumatic line.

Abstract: A manifold assembly and method of making the same is disclosed. The manifold assembly is preferably made of a polymer. A mold is used to make the manifold portion of the manifold assembly such that small diameter passageways and valve seats are formed enabling use of small solenoids. Since pressure is applied to small diameter plunger seals (valves) driven by solenoid plungers, small solenoids may be used because the force on the solenoid plungers is correspondingly low. The manifold assembly is comprised of a manifold portion and a plug portion. The manifold portion, as disclosed, has an inlet port for the supply of air pressure. An inlet housing in which an inlet solenoid is housed, a supply port for supplying air to or exhausting air from a reservoir, and an exhaust housing in which an exhaust solenoid is housed are connected to a chamber. The chamber which interconnects the housings and supply port is enclosed by the plug portion which is ultrasonically welded to the manifold portion.

Abstract: An assembly of a pair of electrically operated bidirectional proportional control valves and a four-way direction control valve governs the flow of fluid to and from a hydraulic cylinder. The four-way direction control valve alternately connects a pump supply line to one of a pair of intermediate conduits and a tank return line to the other intermediate conduit. That connection determines the direction of movement of the cylinder piston. The intermediate conduits are coupled to chambers of the cylinder by a separate one of the proportional control valves which meters the fluid flow to or from the respective chamber. • Patent number: 6453936
Abstract: A valve system for the pre-engagement unit of a vehicle braking pressure modulator contains solenoid valves, which are controlled by an electronic braking system. Pneumatic pressure is fed into a brake cylinder on the vehicle wheels via a pressure regulating channel of the pre-engagement unit. The solenoid valves are configured as cartridge solenoid valves, so that assembly is simplified, and utilization of elastic tolerance compensating elements is unnecessary. A preferred embodiment includes three cylinder bodies connected end-to-end with no increase in cylinder diameter. This embodiment enables the use of identical armatures and identical magnet coils for different valve types, such as 3/2-way solenoid valves or 2/2-way solenoid valves. Also, these valves may be configured as normally open or normally closed, with identical outside dimensions. As such, three cartridge solenoid valves can be combined into a compact triple valve cartridge unit that further simplifies the assembly process.

Abstract: A valve means which comprises a control chamber in a valve housing and into which several fluid duct open. In the control chamber there is at least one pivoting control rocker member serving for the control of at least one of the fluid duct openings and able to be moved between two terminal positions, one pivotal position of such control rocker member being influenced by an electrically activated flexible element. The flexible element may act within the control chamber on an actuating part of the control rocker member. The latter is biased by spring means into a first terminal position, the flexible element engaging the actuating portion of the control rocker member in the electrically non-excited state mechanically free of stress and without any spring bias.
