Each Valve And/or Closure Operated By Coupling Motion Patents (Class 137/614.02)
  • Patent number: 11815212
Abstract: Each of a pair of couplers includes: a vacuum double-pipe structure main part; a valve seat forming an opening through which a fluid flows; and a valve body in the main part. The valve body is configured such that, when separating the couplers, in each coupler, the body is brought into contact with the seat by a spring to close the opening, and when coupling the couplers, the body of each coupler is pressed by the body of the other coupler to move away from the seat and open the opening. The valve body includes: a holding member holding a sealing material sealing between the body and the seat when the body is in contact with the seat; a resin block covering a distal end surface of the holding member; and a metal operating member accommodating the block and protruding from the holding member to pass through the opening.

Abstract: A coupler mechanism comprising plug and receptacle units sealably mates and de-mates first and second reservoirs. In the mating sequence, the plug and receptacle units are brought together so that their end-seals are pressed tightly against each other axially, thus forming a sealed barrier between the units and the outside environment. Once the face-to-face seal between the units has been established, further engagement displaces slidable seal elements laterally, thereby creating an opening between the reservoirs, the opening remaining sealed from the outside environment before, during and after mating. The sequence for demating the units is just the reverse of the mating sequence. Abstract: The rigid coupling device includes a closure valve extended by a retractable sliding stop member of general tubular shape made from elastically deformable material, having at least one outward radial projection forming a stop against a corresponding inward radial projection of a movable interior body that contains the valve. The stop member has an open end opposite the opening of the cylindrical cavity of one end connecting to the conduit. Simultaneous withdrawal of the interior body and of the valve into the interior body has the effect of causing this open end to contract, forcibly inserting it into the cylindrical cavity of the connecting end in such a manner as to overcome the stop.

Abstract: The refrigerant service port valve for air conditioners has a valve body defining a main fluid conduit adapted for insertion into a coolant line using compression fittings at opposite ends of the conduit. A pedestal is mounted on the exterior conduit wall. The pedestal has a bore therethrough forming a lower service passage that enters the main fluid conduit, and an internally threaded blind bore parallel to the lower service passage. A slider is mounted on the pedestal, the slider having a male quick connect fitting defining an upper service passage. The upper service passage may be aligned with the lower service passage in an open position to service the system, or the slider may be moved to align the upper service passage with the blind bore to access a setscrew, which is raised partially into the upper service passage to lock the valve in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 7677261
Abstract: A fluid coupling device and coupling system that may start and stop the flow of a fluid is disclosed. In some embodiments, first and second couplings are provided having an actuator coupled with each of the couplings. The couplings and actuators may be detachable to provide quick disconnect features and, in some embodiments, provide unitary actuation for the actuators of the coupling device to facilitate connection in mobile applications. Actuation may occur as the two couplings and actuators are engaged and disengaged and may occur by rotational actuation of the actuators. Rotational actuation can be provided to ensure flow through the coupling device, which in some embodiments may further provide an offset venturi feature. Upon disengagement, a compression element such as a compression spring can be provided to return the actuators to a closed position. Some embodiments further provide a seal external to the actuators and provided at incipient engagement of the couplings.

Abstract: At least one coupling member (2) has a slide valve holder (42) that is pushed in by the other coupling member (3) when coupled to the coupling member (2). The coupling member (2) further has a rotary valve (41) rotatably supported by the slide valve holder. The slide valve holder has a through-hole (425) constituting a flow path. A valve seat (26) is provided around the through-hole. The rotary valve (41) has an outer peripheral surface portion that slidingly engages the valve seat. One end of a fluid passage (411) extending through the rotary valve is open on the outer peripheral surface portion. The rotary valve is displaceable toward the valve seat and is urged toward the valve seat by a spring member (64). Thus, the outer peripheral surface portion is pressed against the valve seat. When a fluid pressure acts in the coupling member (2) when the coupling members (2, 3) are not coupled to each other, the fluid pressure presses the rotary valve toward the valve seat.

Abstract: A female hydraulic coupling member is equipped with an internal displaced water compensation system comprising a spring-biased piston in a generally axial cylinder bored into the coupling body and that is offset from the central axial bore. The cylinder is in fluid communication with an interior portion of the receiving chamber such that seawater within the receiving chamber that is displaced by the probe of a male coupling member inserted in the receiving chamber may move into the cylinder of the displaced water compensation system.
