With Internal Flow Passage Patents (Class 137/625.38)
  • Patent number: 6206021
Abstract: A sleeve valve comprises a sleeve and a gate. The sleeve includes an intake, a discharge nozzle section, and a clean-out section. The discharge nozzle section includes a plurality of nozzles. The sleeve is adapted for fluid flow from the intake through a fluid passage and out the nozzles. The clean-out section includes at least one access port. The gate is adapted for sliding within the sleeve in sliding sealing engagement with the interior surface of the sleeve between closed, throttling, open, and clean positions. The gate and sleeve are configured so that the gate, when in the closed position, prevents fluid within the fluid passage from flowing out the nozzles and the access port. The gate and sleeve, when in the throttling position, permits fluid within the fluid passage to flow out some of the nozzles but prevents fluid within the fluid passage from flowing out the access port of the clean-out section and others of the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 6192982
Abstract: A system for individually controlling the inflation and deflation of individual packers mounted on a casing is disclosed. The system includes a packer valve (36) mounted on the casing (24). The valve is in fluid communication with one of the packers (28). A probe (124) is movable within the casing to access packer valve to inflate or deflate the related packer (28). The packer valve includes a body having a bore (40), a valve closure conduit (42) and a valve opening conduit (44), each in communication with the bore. In one embodiment, the valve further includes a packer inlet/outlet conduit (50) connecting the bore to the packer, and a packer/valve conduit (54) in communication with the bore (40) and the packer inlet/outlet conduit. In another embodiment, the bore is directly communicated with the interior of the packer. The packer valve also includes a valve pin (41) reciprocatably mounted in the bore.
