Abstract: Relevant specifications in the field of gas supply provide for different safety devices for installation in a gas-supply system, in particular, an acetylene-supply system. To provide such a safety device, which is characterized by a compact structure and a high level of operational reliability, this invention proposes that a valve body (1) incorporates an over-pressure valve (4; 104) of a quick-action shut-off device, a control valve (3; 103) of a pressure-limiting device, and a safety valve (2; 102), whereby the safety valve (2; 102) can be fluidically connected to the over-pressure valve (4; 104) and the control valve (3; 103), and closes either when the over-pressure valve (4; 104) opens due to an inlet pressure that is above the inlet-pressure limit value or when the control valve (3; 103) opens due to an outlet pressure that is above an outlet-pressure limit value.

  • Publication number: 20080163947
Abstract: A valve seat 20 is arranged between the supply circuit 8 and a downstream circuit 18. A valve body 21 blocks a fluid flow between the supply circuit 8 and the downstream circuit 18 by contacting the valve seat 20. The valve body 21 connects the supply circuit 8 to the downstream circuit 18 for supplying the fluid to the downstream circuit 18 by separating from the valve seat 20. A through hole 24 extends through the valve body 21 and thus defines a part of the supply circuit 8. The through hole 24 is defined in such a manner that the fluid that has flowed from the through hole 24 proceeds between the valve seat 20 and the valve body 21 and is thus supplied to the downstream circuit 18. The valve body 21 is formed in such a manner that a pressure receiving area at an upstream side of the through hole 24 is smaller than a pressure receiving area at a downstream side of the through hole 24.

  • Patent number: 5482085
Abstract: A fluid control valve includes a spring biased pilot pressure sub-assembly for adjustably setting an initial step pressure. The sub-assembly includes a spring seat and an axially movable spool. The spool includes a body portion having a threaded outer surface. A pair of lock nuts are threaded on the threaded body portion. A pilot spring reacts between the lock nuts and the spring seat. The magnitude of the initial step pressure is dependent upon the magnitude of the force exerted by this pilot spring. The magnitude of this force can be adjusted by changing the position of the lock nuts relative to the spring seat. Because they are threaded onto the spool, rotation of the lock nuts causes axial movement relative thereto. Thus, the position of the lock nuts on the spool can be adjusted simply by rotating them relative to the spool.

Abstract: An electromagnetic double-valve can synchronously regulate or control the ow of two materials without the need of a costly mechanical linkage between the two individual valves which may be arranged in a common housing. An armature serves as the valve body or plug in each valve and is held in one valve position by permanent magnets and is switched to the other valve position by a synchronously controlled electromagnetic coil or coils which are connected in series. When one armature is lifted quicker than the other by the electromagnet or magnets, then the total magnetic flux decreases, whereby the second armature is also lifted. • Patent number: 4462428
Abstract: The illustrated embodiment teaches a three-way valve system for an ink jet printer. The system has an inlet, a main outlet, a vent, and two needle valves (a shut-off valve and a vent valve) which sit in respective valve guides. The passageways are arranged so that for ink to reach the outlet or vent, it travels through the shut-off valve seat and guide. Similarly, to reach the vent, fluid must pass through the vent valve seat and guide. The shut-off valve and vent valves are arranged to reciprocate through the action of a lever with a fulcrum between the two needle valves. The lever is connected to an actuator solenoid and an opposing bias spring. For opening of the valve system, the solenoid pulls the lever to shut the vent valve, thereby permitting the pressurized ink to lift the shut-off valve off its seat. When the shut-off valve is seated, a smaller area is exposed to pressure than when it is not seated. Therefore, the ink exerts a greater force on the opened shut-off valve.
