Air Cap Patents (Class 138/89.3)
  • Patent number: 11149875
Abstract: A Lockout Tagout (LOTO) device is configured to positively and securely lock out various types of valves, such as air actuated valves. In particular, the LOTO device serves as a lock block at the air inlet of a valve, thereby preventing the inadvertent connection of an air source to the valve while it is closed. The LOTO device may also be tagged. Thus, when installed, the LOTO device and its accompanying tag serve as both a physical and visual indicator that the valve to which it is attached is out of service and should not be handled, actuated, opened, or tampered with.

  • Patent number: 10480498
Abstract: A piston plug includes a cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis and an outer cylindrical surface. The outer cylindrical surface extends longitudinally between a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The outer cylindrical surface defines a hole extending radially inward. The hole has a central axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body. A first channel and a second channel are defined by cylindrical body. The first channel is in fluidic communication with the first surface and the hole. The second channel is in fluidic communication with the second surface and the hole. The first channel, the second channel, and at least a portion of the hole form a non-collinear flowpath. The piston plug is disposed in a plug hole in a piston and is retained in the plug hole via an interference fit between the piston plug and the plug hole.

  • Patent number: 10406536
Abstract: A dispensing closure for a squeeze-type container produces a fan-type spray in a low pressure environment. The dispensing closure includes a closure body having an upper deck and a skirt depending from the upper deck. The skirt is configured and arranged to attach to a product container, such as a squeeze-type container. A flow conduit extends from an interior of the closure body and through the upper deck to provide a flow path from an interior of the closure to an exterior of the closure. The flow conduit has an entrance orifice and an exit orifice. The flow conduit has an inner wall extending between the entrance orifice and the exit orifice. The flow conduit and the closure body are integrally formed. The flow conduit includes a tip portion with an exit orifice defining a shape to provide a fan-type spray in a low pressure environment.

  • Patent number: 9789843
Abstract: An inflator cap comprising: an outer cover; an anti-corrosion lining formed in or inside the outer cover; and a magnetic member formed on, in or inside the outer cover, whereby the magnetic member of the inflator cap, once unscrewed from the inflator, will be magnetically attractable on a ferromagnetic object to prevent its loss; or whereby the anti-corrosion lining will preclude a direct contact between the outer cover of the inflator cap and a valve stem of the inflator to prevent from sticking of the oxide of the outer cover once oxidized on the valve stem of the inflator, thereby smoothly unscrewing the cap from the inflator.

  • Patent number: 9669971
Abstract: A valve system includes a fitment or a fluid container having a threaded spout, a valve assembly, and a cap. The threaded spout has external threads. The valve assembly includes a sleeve forming a barrel. The barrel includes internal threads and external threads. The internal threads accommodate the external threads of the spout at a first end of the barrel. The valve assembly further includes a valve located at a second end of the barrel. The valve is operable to open and close an internal fluid pathway of the valve assembly. The cap defines an interior region that includes internal threads that accommodate the external threads of the barrel. The cap accommodates the valve within the interior region when the internal threads of the cap are fully threaded onto the external threads of the barrel. The cap may contact the valve to provide an additional seal.

  • Patent number: 6279600
Abstract: A theft resistant valve cap including a liner adapted for threaded engagement with a standard pneumatic tire stem valve, a sleeve rotatably mounted with the liner to shroud it and an interlocking feature to selectively prevent axial displacement between the liner and the sleeve. The interlocking feature includes a screw threaded into an aperture in the sleeve, or other coupling device, and an annular channel on the liner, positioned to receive the screw. The annular channel has an upper surface, a lower surface and an inner surface disposed between the upper and lower surfaces. The screw is moved so that it extends into the channel resting proximate to the upper surface, but clear of both said lower and inner surfaces. The screw can be removed after the valve cap has been installed. In this fashion, the liner and the sleeve are in a fixed axial position with respect to each other; however, the rotatability of the sleeve with respect to the liner is maintained, preventing removal of the liner from the stem.

  • Patent number: 6223776
Abstract: A plugging device for closing an opening defined by an end of a pipe with sealant comprises a cap, an extension, an inner seal, a guide, and at least one stop. The cap has an inner surface which defines a chamber adapted for retaining the sealant. The chamber is dimensioned slightly larger than the end so as to receive the end. The chamber and end define a gap therebetween. The extension has a distal end and is attached to the inner surface opposite the distal end. The inner seal is attached to the extension and sized larger than the opening. The guide is positioned forward of the inner seal and attached to the distal end. The guide is also dimensioned to be inserted into the opening. The stop is attached to the extender, and when the stop is disposed in the pipe, the stop is movable with respect to the conduit in one direction and also prevents misalignment of the cap with the pipe. A handle can also be included to allow the cap to be positioned robotically.
