  • Patent number: 5642760
Abstract: A tatting shuttle having upper and lower flanges that extend from the upper and lower surfaces of the shuttle. The flanges impart gripping ability to the user as the fingers are placed inside the area bordered by the flanges. The shuttle comprises a pair of ovoid halves-an upper and a lower half that are connected to one another by a central portion. The central portion is used for holding a length of thread. Each of the halves presents a surface to the user that the fingers and thumb will grip. The flanges extend from the edge of each surface. Those on the upper half extend upwardly and those on the lower half downwardly.

  • Patent number: 5058629
Abstract: A sley for a loom has a slot in which the magnet of a shuttle and/or the magnet of a magnetic force-generating device extends, so as to minimize the distance between the magnets of the shuttle and the magnetic force-generating device. This results in an increase in the magnetic force of attraction without having to use a higher power magnetic force generating device. Further, the shuttle is synchronized with a shuttle driving member of the magnetic force-generating device.

  • Patent number: 4877061
Abstract: An automatic cop replacing apparatus for a shuttle-type loom with which a cop contained in the shuttle is automatically replaced, including tying the threads together of the old and new cops, and requiring no operator intervention. The apparatus includes a hand for gripping the cop, a rotary arm plate on which the hand is mounted, a drive device for rotating the rotary arm plate and for linearly moving the rotary arm plate in the axial direction with respect, thereto and a drive shaft for moving the rotary arm plate to an exchange position for the cop. A thread tying device holds and ties together the threads of the old and new cops.
