Abstract: A weaving loom provided with a device for positioning at least one weft cutter relative to a sley of the weaving loom in a specific direction includes a holder which carries at least one weft cutter and a bearing piece accommodates the holder. The bearing piece can be fixed immovably on the sley, which itself has at least one sley leg and a first end is rotatably connected to the sley by coupling elements. The holder is mounted inside the bearing piece so that it slides in a specific direction.
Abstract: A picking apparatus of a rapier loom has gripping bodies between a weft selection device and a yarn cutter. The gripping bodies are movable up and down. The gripping bodies selectively grip a plurality of weft yarns in accordance with a color pattern. One yarn cutter cuts the weft yarn gripped by the gripping bodies and severs the cut weft yarn from a woven cloth after the weft yarn is picked. Thus, neither catch cords nor an extra length of fringe nor a selvage cutter are needed.
Abstract: The selvedge trimmer of a weaving loom utilizing a short sword system is operated responsive to the arcuate reciprocal motion of the rocker shaft. A "four bar linkage" system operatively connects the rocker shaft with the cutter apparatus in such a manner that the arcuate movement of the rocker shaft is transmitted to the cutter mechanism after effecting a suitable reduction of the stroke length.
