  • Patent number: 4053000
Abstract: The present invention relates to shedding mechanisms most advantageously used on wide travelling-wave looms. These mechanisms comprise systems of heddle shafts and cams rigidly secured on a drive shaft, imparting to the heddle shafts dephased motion and arranged in groups in a housing so that individual drive sections are formed, additional heddle shafts coupled with the cophasal main heddle shafts being installed therebetween. Such an arrangement enables the loom width to be more fully utilized, wide fabrics to be woven and the width of the fabric produced to be varied.

  • Patent number: 4051872
Abstract: A travelling-wave loom relates to the machine-building branch of the textile industry. This loom comprises a cloth-forming mechanism composed of a rotary reed and a separating grate with plates, and weft thread carriers propelled through the shed of the warp threads and partially accommodated in a tunnel of the separating grate. Each carrier has a groove on the side facing the plates of the separating grate, whereas each plate of this grate has a projection engaging the groove of the carrier. The ends of the projections of the plates are positioned as close as possible to the mechanical trajectory of the crests of the teeth of the reed disks so that with the disks rotating, the teeth thereof are clear of the tops of these projections.

  • Patent number: 4037628
Abstract: A travelling-wave loom comprises a rotary reed. The rotary reed includes a shaft with disks angularly offset relative to one another and provided with teeth of different radial lengths. The disks are mounted on the shaft in groups of at least two disks. In one disk of each group, in the direction of the reed rotation, at least one of the teeth is located relative to the corresponding tooth of the other disk of each group so that a helical line formed by the front edges of these teeth is of a step-like shape. Such an arrangement of the disks and the teeth thereof creates favorable conditions both for reliable engagement of the weft and for advancing the latter to the fell of the cloth for subsequent beating-up.

  • Patent number: 4034783
Abstract: A travelling-wave loom is provided with a pair of endless chains which respectively carry a plurality of weft inserters and a plurality of winding units for feeding weft threads from associated bobbins to the weft inserters. The chain carrying the winding unit is formed from a plurality of spaced rigid carrier members interconnected by standard links. Each carrier member has a groove for removably receiving the winding head, and when in position a spring-loaded pawl affixed to the carrier member releasably secures the winding head in the groove of such carrier member. Such chain also carries transversely spaced sets of rollers which are individually supported on opposite sides of an oval guide rail. One of the roller sets is spring-loaded to maintain the carrier member in firm contact with the guide surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4031927
Abstract: The drive includes actuators having respective heald frames secured to the upper ends thereof, the lower ends having mounted thereon followers permanently engaging moving cam plates controlling the reciprocation of the heald frames. A longitudinal groove is made in each one of the actuators, receiving therein a spring having its axis offset with respect to the vertical axis of a respective follower, in the direction of movement of the cam plates. The proposed structure of the drive reduces its dimensions and enhances the reliability of its performance.
