Lappet Patents (Class 139/49)
  • Patent number: 10597802
Abstract: In order to provide a weaving loom having incorporated knitting threads, it is provided that the corresponding device for incorporating knitting threads comprises a feeding device for each knitting thread and, also for each knitting thread, a dipping guide needle (4) which comprises a thread guiding eye and which can be dipped between warp threads (2, 3) into the shed all the way below the insertion path of the weft-insertion device (7). Each one of the dipping guide needles (4) is slidingly arranged transversely to the warp direction, thus being able to move across the width of the woven material. Furthermore, there is provided a combing shaft (10) that comprises a plurality of teeth with intermediate spaces arranged therebetween for guiding the knitting threads. The combing shaft (10) that is slidable transversely to the direction of the warp thread and is rotatable around an axis in the direction of the rail is arranged transversely to the direction of the warp thread behind the stop position of the reed.

  • Publication number: 20130153080
Abstract: On a weaving machine for the production of woven fabrics with additional pattern effects, one or more effect threads (2) that are supplied substantially in the warp direction are slidingly displaced passing over neighboring warp threads (1) in the weft direction (12) above a weft thread (3) that is to be inserted, for various motion cycles of the weaving machine. During the following positioning of the effect threads (2) below the weft thread (3) to be inserted, the effect threads (2) submerge into one-sided upwardly open reed gaps (8) of a reed (4). In order to assist the submerging of the effect threads (2) into the reed gaps (8), a reed (4) is equipped with a first group of reed blades (5) which, at their upper end, comprise an insertion bevel (7) facing in the longitudinal direction of the reed (4). These are configured such that thereby the upwardly facing opening of a neighboring reed gap (8) is at least partially covered.

  • Patent number: 4429722
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for weaving fabrics on a loom wherein, during the usual operation of the loom, specially arranged warp yarns, hereinafter called "decorating yarns" advancing from separate warp yarn supplies which are remote from the normal warp beam, are caused to cross over the normal warp yarns during shedding. The decorating yarns are under the control of unique heddles mounted in harnesses which are arranged for both sideways or lateral movement and also adapted for up and down movement. The unique heddles and harnesses are controlled in synchronism with the normal shedding of the loom so that the specially arranged decorating yarns are caused to cross over the usual warp yarns and then be projected into the shed to be held in place as the filling is projected through the shed and beat-up. Thus, the decorating yarns, which may vary from the usual warp yarns in any desired manner as, for example, count, color, fiber composition, etc.
