  • Patent number: 10315473
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for deflating an air-pressurized tire used on heavy machinery or mining equipment. The apparatus can include a venturi tube having a feed tube with one end terminated in the constricted throat of the venturi tube and the other end operatively connected to an exit port of a valve extraction tool connected to a valve stem disposed on the tire's rim. A stream of air can be passed through the throat of the venturi tube to create a region of pressure lower than atmospheric pressure. When the extraction tool removes the valve core of the valve stem, pressurized air in the tire can flow to the low-pressure region in the venturi tube thereby resulting in decreased time to deflate the tire.

  • Patent number: 10137745
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for gravity-driven pumps, gravity-driven power generators that power electric pumps, as well as various supporting concepts, mechanisms, and approaches. As a tire rotates around an axle, the pull of gravity varies for a given point on the tire. While gravity is always pulling ‘down’, the force relative to a fixed point on the tire changes. Gravity-driven pumps exploit these changes in gravitational force to do work. Automatic, gravity-driven pumps can be used to inflate tires to offset the natural gas leakage of modern tires, and can maintain tire pressure and inflation within a desired or optimal range. As different conditions are met, pump parameters are determined which can adjust the pumps. Such conditions include driving patterns, load, and temperature, and resulting adjustments include turning on and off pumps, varying stroke length, and varying the number of strokes required.

Abstract: A coffee maker efficiently automates the process of pour-over coffee brewing by employing a computer system that controls how and when hot water is dispensed into a coffee filter. The computer system controls a mechanism that pulls a nozzle back and forth along a linear track, and rotates the linear track. A user generally puts a coffee filter in place and then pushes a button on the computer system once to allow the system to wet the coffee filter. Then the user could put coffee grounds into the coffee filter and push the button again to allow the system to lightly wet the surface of the coffee grounds. The user could then place the coffee cup underneath the filter and push the button a third time to allow coffee to be slowly brewed as spirals of hot water are dispensed on the coffee grounds.

  • Patent number: 9808842
Abstract: A puncturing device for pressurized containers comprises an elongated housing defining an elongated cavity with openings at either end for receiving an inverted pressurized container at one end, the housing including a selective attachment member for securing the other end of the housing to a collection receptacle. A non-sparking puncturing apparatus, with a lever having a built-in stop, is movably mounted on the housing with a pivot-link-driven puncture pin extending through an intermediate aperture into the cavity for piercing a nozzle-end of the pressurized container below an internal shoulder thereof with a seal. A counter records each action of the puncture pin. Container contents are released into the receptacle. An auxiliary support is rotatably mounted on the housing for stabilizing relative movement between the housing and the receptacle. A force-applying apparatus is mounted on the housing for engaging the pressurized container and holding it on the seal.

  • Patent number: 9809330
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for controlling flow of a flowable material. The flowable material passes from a product supply through one or more valves which are coupled to a controller. The controller is also coupled to one or more sensors operable to generate a signal indicating whether flowable product is present or not present at a specific level within a container. The controller is programmed to operate the valves based on signals received from the sensors. The sensors may be associated with the feed container and used to control metering of flowable product out of the feed container, or they may be associated with a container and used to control filling of the container with flowable product.

  • Patent number: 9772264
Abstract: An automatic analyzer is capable of controlling the gap between the tip of the sample nozzle and the bottom surface of the reaction container and restricting the sample attached to the tip of the sample nozzle. A movement distance of an arm is calculated and stored while the tip of the sample nozzle contacts a coordinate measurement stand until a stop position detector detects a stop position detection plate. The sample nozzle is moved toward the bottom surface of the reaction container and is stopped at the time when the stop position detector detects the stop position detection plate. The arm is moved upwardly for the movement distance stored in memory from this position. The sample nozzle can be stopped such that the tip of the sample nozzle is contacted to the bottom surface of the reaction container and the bend (warp) of the sample nozzle is restricted.
