  • Patent number: 8899279
Abstract: This present invention relates to a preparation of gaseous fuel (natural gas for example) for its further transfer under pressure to fuel tank of a vehicle 22. This object is achieved by a method for compressing gas by alternate transfer of gas into two vertically arranged compressing vessels 1 and 2, its compression and forcing into high-pressure vessels by filling the compressing vessels 1 and 2 with working fluid 30 under pressure by means of a hydraulic drive 5. A novelty of this method lies in that, each cycle of gas 29 compressing and its forcing out of the compressing vessels 1 and 2 is performed until these vessels are fully filled with the working fluid 30 contained in the compressing vessels 1 and 2 and alternately forced out of one compressing vessel into the other in response to a signal sent by fluid-level sensor 4.

Abstract: A hydrogen compressor system comprises a hydrogen generating apparatus for generating hydrogen gas to be supplied to a fuel cell vehicle and a multi-stage reciprocating compressor for pressurizing the hydrogen gas generated by the hydrogen generating apparatus. High pressure tanks having maximum use pressure of 20 MPa are connected to middle stages of the multi-stage reciprocating compressor by gas supplying lines via valves. By opening/closing the valves, hydrogen gas in the high pressure tanks can be selectively supplied to the middle stages of the multi-stage reciprocating compressor.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pressurized package and a method for manufacturing and filling a pressurized package. The pressurized package has an outer container (10) and an inner container (20) situated within the outer container (10). In the outer container (10) a chamber (11) for material (12) to be dispensed is arranged and in the inner container (20) a propellant chamber (21) for propellant (20) is arranged, which are separated from each other in a manner that is impermeable to liquid and gas. The outer container (10) is closed by a cover part (15) on which a valve part (16) is arranged for dispensing the material (12) from the chamber (11) outwards. To improve pressurized packages of this type, a pressurized cartridge (30) containing a propellant (22) is arranged in the inner container (20), and the pressurized cartridge is associated with an opening mechanism (31) for at least one-time opening of the pressurized cartridge (30) to the propellant chamber (21) of the inner container (20).

  • Patent number: 7032628
Abstract: A mobile prepressurized fluid storage tank is disclosed where the compressed air, completely separated from the fluid by a flexible diaphragm, dispenses the fluid under pressure, e.g., into an engine. The prepressurized diaphragm-type fluid storage tank is initially charged with a gas on one side of the diaphragm. A connector on the other end of the tank is connected to the fluid pumping system. Fluid is pumped into the tank until a predetermined pressure is reached and then the fill valve is shut off. A second connection attached to a bottom system connection has a hose. At the end of the hose there is a fluid shut off valve. Dispensing of the fluid takes place through the fluid shut off valve. The prepressurized fluid storage tank is mounted on a frame that contains wheels for mobility.

  • Patent number: 6994126
Abstract: A squirt gun includes a hollow housing in the form of a gun with a liquid dispensing assembly within the housing. The liquid dispensing assembly includes a rigid pressure vessel having either a gas-filled compressible bladder or a spring-loaded piston disposed within. The vessel is connected to a flexible tube with a nozzle at one end, and the gun is adapted to receive and expel water to and from the vessel through the nozzle. A pivotable trigger cooperates with the flexible tube to either enable both the receiving and expelling, or to deny the expelling of the water. To fill the gun, water is forced into the vessel under pressure, which compresses the air bladder or the piston to retain that pressure within the water-filled vessel. To expel the retained water, the trigger is moved to an “open” position, which allows the water to be forced from the pressurized water-filled vessel, through the nozzle, and from the gun as the air bladder or the piston expands.

  • Patent number: 6883564
Abstract: A refillable container includes a filling valve, and a pressurization station having housing at which a needle is coupled to a compressor. The needle includes an enlarged frustoconical head, a reduced diameter neck, and a larger diameter base. The filling valve has an upper split portion, a frustoconical section expanding downward and terminating in a barb, and a lower flared flange, and defines an interior space having a first portion sized to accommodate the head of the needle, a reduced diameter neck portion, and a flared third portion providing an entrance for the needle. Upon compressor actuation, air is forced into the valve and causes the bills of the valve to flutter open to pressurize the container. As pressure within the container increases, force against the valve from within the container increases, locking the container on the needle. The container may be guided onto the needle with minimal effort.

Abstract: A fluid transfer adapter for use with a syringe barrel having a collar with adapter engaging structure and a distally-facing frusto-conically shaped surface is disclosed. The adapter includes a hub having a proximally-facing frusto-conically shaped surface for mating with the frusto-conically shaped surface on the barrel, structure for threadably engaging the hub to the collar of the barrel so that the frusto-conically shaped surface of the hub contacts the frusto-conically shaped surface of the barrel to prevent liquid flow between the surfaces and a fluid transfer having a passageway therethrough, connected to the distal end of the hub so that the lumen is in fluid communication with a conduit in the hub. The passageway includes a frusto-conically shaped edge that aligns with the frusto-conically shaped edge of the barrel, when the adapter is connected to the barrel, thereby reducing waste space.

Abstract: Devices and methods are described for filling or refilling a needle-less injector. A coupling device is attached to a vessel, and mated to the dispensing end of a needle-less injector. A volume of fluid may be transferred via the coupling device, from the vessel to the injector. Air may be removed from the injector prior to the injector, vessel, and coupling device being separated from one another. In alternate embodiments, the vessel may include filling equipment capable of filling or refilling multiple needle-less injectors simultaneously, in series, or both. In other embodiments, a coupling device may be used to withdraw a fluid from a storage vial into a vessel for filling a needle-less injector. A storage vial may alternately contain a product, and a fluid may be introduced therein via a coupling device to create a mixture, which may be subsequently withdrawn into a vessel for filling a needle-less injector.
