Patent number: 5875823Abstract: The siphoning device, with measuring indicators, is used for liquid--liquid separation. The body member has an outlet with an open tip; the outlet can have a peripheral rim with notches proximate the open tip. A two-way liquid valve contoured to approximate the contour of the interior of the outlet, controls liquid flow out of the body and permits flow into the body. A stem portion affixed to the liquid valve extends through and beyond the open tip of the outlet. Pressure on the stem places the valve in an open position and permits liquid to be discharged. An air pump interacts with the body to expel air and draw in the liquids. Patent number: 5706870Abstract: The invention relates to an improved apparatus and method of refilling an ink jet cartridge used with printers. The kit includes a plug pulling tool, and an amount of ink contained in a syringe-plunger assembly with a cap, The plug pulling tool allows removing a plug from a cartridge without damage, so that the plug can be replaced into the cartridge after being refilled. The syringe-plunger assembly allows the user to seal the nozzle of the syringe tight against the hole in the cartridge, in order to fill the cartridge with ink as well as to remove unwanted air from inside the cartridge. The invention eliminates the need of having to reseal the cartridge by alternate means, allows venting of the cartridge reservoir during the refill process, and significantly increases the efficiency and cleanness of refilling an ink jet cartridge.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1996Date of Patent: January 13, 1998Assignee: Procubed Corp.Inventor: James T. Patent number: 5603361Abstract: A portable dispenser is adapted to filling water balloons and water pistols. A reservoir is pressurized by a hand pump that draws air in from the atmosphere and forces the air into the reservoir. The pressure in the reservoir forces water down a flexible tube to a trigger mechanism in a water pistol. The trigger mechanism performs three functions: it throttles the water, it acts as relief valve by releasing water if the pressure is greater than a predetermined limit, and it indicates the pressure within the reservoir. When the trigger mechanism is actuated, water flows through the mechanism to a valve that directs the water either to a filling nozzle or to a spraying nozzle. In an alternative embodiment, the pump takes water from a storage chamber within the reservoir and pumps it into a high pressure chamber within the reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1994Date of Patent: February 18, 1997Inventor: Jarret P. Patent number: 5217050Abstract: Some paste or liquid products, used as cosmetics and medicines, for example, have to be protected from contact with air. Methods have been developed for vacuum packaging them. These methods are more concerned with eliminating air that may remain in the packaging filled with the product at the time the latter is closed (by welding, by sealed fixing of a dispensing valve, etc). No special precautions are taken during filling of the packaging which is carried out in air and inevitably causes unwanted air bubbles to be trapped. The present method avoids any inclusion of air in the product. The packaging, which consists of a variable volume reservoir, is filled while in its maximum content configuration in an hermetically sealed enclosure that is evacuated. The enclosure is formed by a bucket receiving the reservoir and to which a bell fits in a sealed way. The bell is connected to a system of vacuum pumps and to a store of the product.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1991Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Assignee: ValoisInventor: Jean-Pierre Varlet

Patent number: 4327782Abstract: A portable dispensing appratus which includes a resiliently deformable dispensing reservoir adapted to mount removably on the uppermost end of a dip tube which extends into a bulk container of liquid. The dip tube includes a one-way inlet valve near its lowermost end which prevents flow of liquid out of the dip tube, but which permits flow into the dip tube. Suction created by compressing the resiliently deformable reservoir causes liquid to enter the dip tube through the one-way inlet valve and to flow into the reservoir. The dispensing reservoir can then be removed from the dip tube and taken to a location where it is desired to dispense all or a portion of the liquid. The liquid is dispensed by squeezing the resiliently deformable reservoir, thereby forcing the liquid out through the nozzle. A one-way, pressure-operated outlet valve is preferably located in the dip tube inside the bulk container to permit compression of the resiliently deformable reservoir after placement of the reservoir on the dip tube.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1980Date of Patent: May 4, 1982Assignee: The Procter & Gamble CompanyInventors: Gary E.
