  • Patent number: 6474369
Abstract: A device for storing and mixing an injectate includes a fluid holder removably coupled to an ampoule. The fluid holder initially contains a fluid and the ampoule initially contains a dry reagent. A breakable membrane may be included between the fluid holder and ampoule to prevent the undesirable mixing of the fluid with the dry reagent. Upon application of force to a plunger rod disposed within the fluid holder, fluid is introduced into the ampoule wherein it is mixed with the dry reagent to create an injectable mixture. Air or gas present in the ampoule may be removed therefrom; the fluid holder may be decoupled from the ampoule; and the ampoule may be further coupled to a needle-less injector for administration of an injection of the mixture. • Patent number: 6418987
Abstract: A fluid recovery system for removing fluid from a first container into a second container is formed from a dual cap system. The first of the caps has a push-pull, pop-up valve dispenser in it. A second inverted cap is placed between the actuator for the push-pull valve and the top of the first cap. The second cap has a circular opening cut out at its center which loosely fits around a cylindrical extension of the pop-up valve on the first cap. When the device is to be used, the push-pull valve actuator is pressed closed and the first cap is threaded onto the empty container. The entire assembly then is inverted; and the second cap is threaded onto the container which is to receive the residue from the “empty” container. After the two caps have been threaded onto the respective containers, they are pulled a short distance apart to cause the push-pull valve actuator to be opened; and the top container then empties into the lower container.

Abstract: The invention is a method for changing oil that is much quicker, easier, and cleaner. To use the method one changes his oil in the regular way however he replaces the plug in the oil pan of the engine with a plug that has a quick disconnect valve on it. Then the next time one wishes to change oil he uses a container with a used oil tube connected to it. At the end of the used oil tube opposite the end connected to the closed container a quick disconnect is attached to the tube and said quick disconnect is adapted to fit the quick disconnect of the plug in the bottom of the oil pan. Thus, to remove oil from the motor vehicle one only has to connect the tube on the container to the tube in the plug at the bottom of the oil pan. In the preferred embodiment the plug in the bottom of the oil pan has a tube that runs out of it to the edge of the motor vehicle and this tube has a quick disconnect attached to the end opposite the end of the tube attached to the plug.

Abstract: An injector nozzle which has a body defining a chamber. A portion of the body has an orifice which communicates with the chamber for allowing fluid to enter into or exit from the chamber. The nozzle body includes at least one depression which is configured and dimensioned to cooperatively engage a tab member of an associated component for coupling thereto. The depression is also configured and dimensioned to positively lock the body to the associated component. The body portion which contains the depression is spaced proximally from the orifice. Also, an adapter for coupling the nozzle to a fluid container. The adapter includes a tubular member having first and second ends and a wall therebetween. The wall includes a passageway therethrough with the first end being dimensioned and configured to cooperatively engage the nozzle. The orifice of the nozzle generally aligns with the wall passageway for fluid communication therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5725034
Abstract: A pressurized fluid dispensing nozzle (110') such as for LPG is screw-threadedly engageable with a tank inlet (192) such as on a vehicle. A sealing sleeve (154) carrying a nose piece (140') is biassed into abutment with a gasket (194) on a seal face (196) of the tank inlet and is urged rearwardly by the abutment. The sealing sleeve (154) is slidably mounted on a sealing member (136') which is urged rearwardly with the sealing sleeve (154) into a valve actuating condition. A trigger (118') is actuated to open a valve assembly (120') by shifting the valve assembly forwardly to bring a valve body (126') into abutment with an actuator (132') on the sealing member (136) which lifts the valve body off a valve seat (128'). The pressurized fluid passes along a passage (146') through the sealing member (136') to be dispensed but part of it enters a chamber (150) through ports (134').

  • Patent number: 5690154
Abstract: A filling system for robot-capable filling of a vehicle with fuel has a filler nozzle and a tank filler neck on which a docking extension provided with a central opening is mounted on the filling side. The extension is rotatable by an upper section around the axis of symmetry for opening and closing a tank closure. The filler nozzle is dockable by its end on an outlet side, forming a positive connection between the filler nozzle and the docking extension, with positive elements in the form of teeth distributed around its circumference. The teeth have a hub section and interlock with one another positively when the filler nozzle is ready for filling. In order to achieve functionally reliable docking of the filler nozzle on the filler neck of the vehicle fuel tank and to permit rapid undocking of the filler nozzle from the filler extension, a locking body, urged radially outward by a pretensioning spring, is provided on the outlet side of the filler nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5685351
Abstract: A filler adapter assembly for a multichambered container. The filler adapter mounts on the open end of a multichambered container. The filler adapter enables individual chambers within the container to be emptied or filled without contaminating adjacent chambers. The assembly includes a filler adapter and a releasable closure. The filler adapter is a hollow tubular member having a closure end which matingly engages the open end of the container. The closure end provides plugs and a gasket for sealing all chambers except a single selected chamber. A small opening in the closure end overlies the selected chamber providing fluid communication between the selected chamber and a conical lumen within the filler adapter. The releasable closure provides a leak proof seal between the filler adapter and container. The stem of the funnel or similar device may be placed in the larger opening of the conical lumen and a fluid introduced into the selected chamber.
