  • Patent number: 9539740
Abstract: A chain bar unit for a wall saw is presented herein. The chain bar unit can include a bar configured to receive a circulating chain or wire around a perimeter of the bar. The chain bar unit also can include a driving gear for driving the chain or wire around the bar, the driving gear configured to be coupled to an output shaft of the wall saw. The chain bar unit further includes the bar being tapered from an end proximate to the driving gear to a distal end having a distal end radius, wherein a width of the bar at the proximate end, is at least two times the distal end radius of the distal end.

  • Patent number: 4712596
Abstract: A lumber surfacing machine for roughening the surface of at least one face of a length of lumber. The machine utilizes a driven band saw blade which is maintained by a pair of blade guides at an acute angle to the surface of the lumber to be roughened. Additional lumber surfacing blades comprising circular saws may be used in conjunction with the band saw blade. The circular saws are mounted at a small angle with respect to the surface which they are roughening.

  • Patent number: 4384396
Abstract: An apparatus and method for use in the installation of an electrical receptacle box and in particular for use in cutting an access opening in wallboard installed in covering relationship to the electrical receptacle box. During wall installation, a guide plate is attached to an electrical receptacle box fixed to a wall stud and having a front opening in substantially flush relationship to the front surface of the wall stud. The guide plate carries first locating means and has outer peripheral side edges substantially coinscidential with the forward edges of the sidewalls of the electrical receptacle box defining the front opening. With wallboard installed in covering relationship to the wall stud and the electrical receptacle box so as to conceal them, a second locating means is used to locate the first locating means. The first and second locating means can be first and second magnets having opposite polarity.

  • Patent number: 4356670
Abstract: Method and apparatus for belt sanding of lumber to finish and dimension lumber as rough sawn lumber is moved in single file through the mill. The lumber is moved at an angle of between about 5 to 15 degrees to the axis of the contact drum of a wide belt planer. This angular relationship of the lumber beneath the belt permits the high speed planing without overstressing the abrasive belt.

  • Patent number: 4116248
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for providing various decorative or textured surfaces on a material such as wood. Texturizing on a material surface is accomplished using a portable chain saw angled with respect to the material to be texturized with its cutting depth restrained. The apparatus includes a portable chain saw which has attached to it a pair of rollers, an edge alignment wheel and a pair of support bars. The support bars stabilize the chain saw blade, assist in angling the chain saw and engage the cutting depth. The rollers, assisted by the support bar, maintain the chain saw in angled orientation with respect to the material to be surfaced as the chain saw is passed over the material. The edge alignment wheel maintains proper alignment between the chain saw and the material to be surfaced. The apparatus is portable in design, providing a versatile means of texturizing large structural materials, especially wooden structural elements.
