Abstract: An electric pencil sharpener includes a cutter carrier, and first and second cutter members mounted on the cutter carrier and having long and short blade portions. The rear end of the short blade portion is disposed forwardly of the rear end of the long blade portion. A shaving space includes a rear region disposed between the rear ends of the long and short blade portions. The rear region allows extension of a tip portion of a pencil thereinto for pushing a switch actuation unit so as to deactivate a motor when the tip portion of the pencil has been sharpened to extend a predetermined length into the rear region.
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a power tool includes a housing having a first opening formed therein with a motor being contained within the housing. The tool includes a device for sharpening a writing implement. The sharpening device is at least partially contained within the housing and accessible through the first opening which permits the writing implement to be inserted into the sharpening device. The sharpening device is operatively connected to the motor such that operation of the motor drives the sharpening device.
Abstract: A portable pencil sharpener is capable of being manually operable or operable to be driven by a remote torque driver. The pencil sharpener is capable of sharpening either a carpenter's pencil or a Number 2 pencil. Pencil shavings are retained in a compact housing and removed through a retractable panel.
Abstract: A cutter assembly for an electric pencil sharpener has a cutter bracket and a cutter. The cutter bracket has a pencil sharpening hole and an engaging structure. The pencil sharpening hole is defined in the cutter bracket for a pencil to be inserted into the pencil sharpening hole. The engaging structure is formed on the cutter bracket to engage a rotating frame in the electric pencil sharpener. The cutter is mounted rotatably on the cutter bracket. Accordingly, the cutter assembly is replaceable for the electric pencil sharpener when the cutter of the cutter assembly is damaged or worn.
Abstract: Disclosed is a hand-crank pencil sharpener, comprising a housing and a gearing member and a sharpening member which are installed within the housing. The gearing member is connected to a hand crank and transmits a rotation of the crank to the sharpening member. A vertical feeding path is provided for a pencil to be inserted into the sharpening member. The hand-crank pencil sharpener further comprises a feeding member in the feeding path. The gearing member comprises a gearing branch for driving the feeding member. The inserted pencil is fed into or withdrawn from the sharpener automatically by a linkage of the gearing branch and the feeding member when the crank is rotated clockwise or counterclockwise.
Abstract: An electric pencil sharpener comprising a motor; a cutter assembly operatively connected to the motor, wherein the cutter assembly further includes: a conical housing defining a conical cavity therein for receiving a pencil; and at least one rotary blade mounted in close proximity to the conical cavity, wherein the at least one rotary blade further includes spiral cutting edges for sharpening the pencil; a switch assembly positioned at the narrow end of the conical housing, wherein the switch assembly further includes: a shutoff switch operative to deactivate the motor; mechanical means for actuating the shutoff switch when a desired degree of sharpening has been achieved by the cutter assembly; and an electronic control unit in electrical communication with the switch assembly and the motor, wherein the electronic control unit is operative to provide a delay of a predetermined period of time between when the shutoff switch is activated and when the motor is deactivated.

Abstract: An electric pencil sharpener includes a housing unit having an opening, a driving member driven by a motor, a cutting unit, and a panel unit. The cutting unit includes an outer frame mounted removably in the housing unit and including a ring gear, an inner frame disposed pivotally within the outer frame, and at least one cutting member disposed pivotally on the inner frame. The inner frame has a driven portion connected co-rotatably and removably to the driving member, and a cutting groove. The cutting member has a blade portion adjacent to the cutting groove, and a planetary gear portion meshing with the ring gear. The panel unit is mounted removably to the housing unit for covering the opening, and has a pencil-feeding hole. When the panel unit is removed from the housing unit, the cutting unit can be taken out of the housing unit through the opening.
Abstract: A sharpener for sharpening soft-core pencils, especially those used in the medical or pharmaceutical field, includes a housing; and a shaping componentry, received by the housing, for shaping and sharpening a medical or pharmaceutical pencil. The shaping componentry contains a cleaning agent to thereby disinfect the pencil.
Abstract: A portable pencil sharpener, for use upon a belt, in sharpening pencils, having a housing having a top having a top opening, a rear, and defining an internal cavity. A belt clip is located on the rear to facilitate attachment to the belt. A motorized sharpener assembly is located within the housing for automatically sharpening a pencil when inserted through the top opening. A power pack is located within the housing and has batteries for powering the motorized sharpener assembly. A charging plug and charging circuit allow the batteries to be recharged for subsequent use.
Abstract: A cosmetic eye and lip pencil sharpener that includes an electrically powered sharpener for a number of different diameters of cosmetic pencils and which further includes a number of storage cavities for storing cosmetic pencils when they are not being used. In order to facilitate removal of the pencil shavings generated from sharpening the cosmetic pencils, the cosmetic eye and lip pencil sharpener also includes a removable pencil shaving capture drawer for capturing the shavings and providing a convenient mechanism for transporting the shavings to a disposal location such as a trash can.
Abstract: The invention relates to a pencil sharpener, comprising a clamping chuck (1) that feeds a pencil rotationally fixed therein to a rotating milling device. The clamping chuck (1) comprises a plurality of locating tongues (8) pointing almost radially towards a clamp chuck axis (4) to fix the pencil, said tongues being connected to a holding frame(7) surrounding the clamp chuck axis (4) in such a way that they cannot rotate. When the holding frame (7) is pivoted around the clamp chuck axis (4), the locating tongues (8) are bent in the form of a unilaterally tensed bar spring and interacting with stops (15) of a clamp chuck housing (2, 3). The radial inner locating ends (10) of the locating tongues (8) are pivoted outwards to open the clamp chuck (1). The restoring tension of the bent locating tongues (8) is simultaneously used as closing tension for the clamp chuck (1).
