Of Special Shape Or Structure Patents (Class 144/286.5)
  • Patent number: 6199608
Abstract: An improved portable work bench includes a structural body, and a platform disposed on and frictionally contacting the structural body. In addition, the platform includes an override mechanism for allowing horizontal movement of the platform along the structural body. Further, the portable work bench may include a plurality of legs for supporting the structural body. The structural body may be tubular and preferably has a trapezoidal cross-section. Such work bench can be used by disposing the platform on the structural body, so that the platform frictionally contacts the structural body. Then the user can mechanically override the static friction between the platform and the structural body and move the platform horizontally along the structural body.

  • Patent number: 6196285
Abstract: A work bench top constructed preferably of hardwood dimension lumber of a thickness sufficient to provide the strength and rigidity required for heavy duty work bench use. The bench top consists of two sections, one of which forms the main body of the top and a movable narrower section the same length and thickness as the main section of the top. The narrower or front section of the top is pulled to the main section by hydraulic power and an arrangement of cable and pulleys creating a full length vise. The front section of the top is attached to the main portion or balance of the top by wooden guides that slide into brackets on the underside of the top and by a steel cable attached to eye bolts installed on wooden blocks reinforced by angle iron and attached to this front member of the top. The cable is then threaded around two pulleys mounted on the underside of the main portion of the top and to a third pulley mounted on a metal block also on the underside of the main part of the top.

  • Patent number: 6189429
Abstract: A workpiece supporting assembly for a table saw includes a worktable and two horizontal rows of rollers disposed respectively and rotatably on two vertical side walls of the worktable. Two movable rails are disposed respectively on the side walls of the worktable. Each of the rails has an open-ended horizontal dovetail groove that extends long the length thereof and that confines the rollers of a corresponding one of the rows therein. A horizontal extension support plate rides on the rails. Accordingly, the rails and the extension support plate can move smoothly relative to the worktable.

  • Patent number: 6182724
Abstract: A foldable working bench includes two side frames each including two posts and a collapsible device connected between the two posts. An upper deck is connected on the top of the two side frames and a lower deck is connected between the two side frames and located below the upper deck. The upper deck is able to be slid to the same side of the two side frames when the two side frames are collapsed. A board is fixedly connected to the other side of the two side frames and the lower deck is pivotally connected to the board when the two side frames are collapsed. A roof unit is removably connected to the top of the two side frames.
