    Abstract: For quarantine treatment of a farming and forestry product for pest control, a method and a device may irradiate logs as a phytosanitary treatment with electron beams. The method may include: spreading the logs; aligning the spread logs to be flush at one end; conveying the spread and flush logs laterally; conveying the logs longitudinally through an irradiation field formed by accelerators to provide treatment of irradiation with the electron beams; throwing the irradiated logs out; and laterally conveying the logs away. The device may include a conveying device for conveying the logs, a shielding structure surrounding the conveying device, and accelerators provided in the conveying path of the conveying device. Two or more accelerators may be provided in centrosymmetry about the conveying path.

    Abstract: An apparatus for producing wood lagging blankets includes a board singulator, a board spacer, a wire strand feeder, and a fastener applicator. The board singulator includes an infeed and infeed queue, and a selectively actuable stop. The board spacer includes a spacing conveyor and may be selectively actuable according to instructions from a programmable controller, wherein the fastener applicator mounted aligned vertically over said at least one strand of wire to fasten by fasteners at least one strand of wire down onto the boards on said spacing conveyor to thereby form a lagging blanket of spaced apart boards spaced with substantially constant gapping between the boards, wherein said lagging blanket is tethered together as a stable matrix of laterally aligned, constantly spaced boards, and wherein the lagging blanket is sized to wrap completely around a desired circumference.

The at least two types of engineered wood products are at least two of: panels, I-joists, headers and dimensional lumber.

    Abstract: Provided is a system for cutting and sorting of engineered wood products. Using appropriate software, a designer may model an entire house's structural frame. The dimensions and labeling for individual members of the structure are extracted from the model and captured by the software. The software may batch and optimize the products to be cut on the saw and develop sawing control instructions. The instructions are used by the saw to process the parts according to the house structure design. As the parts are processed by the saw, they are discharged and sent to an outfeed system that will stack the engineered wood products according to the parameters defined by the workstation operator. The system can handle the multiple lengths and widths of engineered wood parts from the saw and stack them in the order the software may specify.
