Slabbing-off, Log Squaring Patents (Class 144/4.9)
  • Patent number: 9289915
Abstract: The undersurface (22) of the floorboards (10) is used as a main reference for taking measurements in a tongue and groove floorboard quality control process. The process comprises measuring at least one distance (X, Y) between the undersurface (22) and a downwardly facing surface of at least one of a tongue and a groove profile of selected ones of the floorboards (10). Measurements can be taken from the undersurface (22) of the selected boards (10) on both sides thereof to vertically adjust the relative position of groove cutter head (18) and the tongue cutter head (16) of the molding machine (M) used to manufacture the boards (10). A depth gage (G) can be used to take the measurements.

  • Patent number: 9138835
Abstract: The X-ray processing device comprises a work table on which a processing object is placed, X-ray processors irradiating the processing object placed in a given processing zone on the work table with an X-ray for processing, a pressing member, and X-ray shielding sheets. The pressing member presses and collapses any remaining raised edges at the sides of the processing object. The X-ray shielding sheets are provided on the side of the pressing member that is closest to the processing zone and shield the X-ray from the X-ray processors.

  • Publication number: 20100154933
Abstract: An apparatus for machining the outer profiles of rectangular work pieces includes side and base fences for orienting a rough work piece upon a table. Edges of the rough work piece are cut (e.g., the rough work piece is sized), shaped, and optionally sanded while the rough work piece remains in place. The rough work piece may be rotated in a way that defines four square edges therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6330895
Abstract: A log flaking and loading method and apparatus. First and second pairs of cutting heads have cutting heads spaced apart to receive a log passed therebetween and thereby to cut two substantially parallel sides. The log is first cut by the first pair of cutting heads, rotated about its elongate axis, and cut by the second pair of cutting heads to produce a four-sided cant. The logs are preferably stored ahead of the first pair of cutting heads in corresponding carriers, which are preferably held in a magazine for dispensing the loaded carriers.
