Abstract: A toothbrush has a bristle support head and a brush cluster. The bristle support head has a mounting surface having a long axis and a short axis. The brush cluster is mounted on the mounting surface of the bristle support head, and has at least one bristle column being parallel with the short axis of the mounting surface, at least one bristle row being parallel with the long axis of the mounting surface and intersecting with the at least one bristle column, and at least one bristle tuft mounted in multiple partitions respectively surrounded by the at least one bristle column and by the at least one bristle column and the at least one bristle row. With the above bristle structure, the toothbrush can effectively contact with the slits between teeth to clean the tartar in the slits.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a monofilament bristle made of modified polytrimethylene terephthalate composition having s a flexural modulus of 2500 MPa or lower, measured according to ISO178:2001, a tensile modulus of 2600 MPa or lower, and an elongation at break % of about 20% or lower, measured respectively according to ISO527-2:1993, wherein the composition comprises: (a) 65-95 wt. % of at least a polytrimethylene terephthalate, and (b) 5-35 wt. % of at least a copolyether-ester having a Shore Hardness of 55 or higher measured according to ISO868. The invention also discloses brushes comprising the monofilament bristle.

Abstract: A multi-function brush for an overdenture includes a brush handle having a head end and a tail end. The head end has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The first group of brushes is provided on the first surface of the head end. The second group of brushes is provided on the second surface of the head end. The third group of brushes is provided on the tail end. With these three groups of brushes having different locations, specifications and indications, an overdenture user can clean the tissue surface and the denture surface of the overdenture, the male part of the dental attachments provided on the tissue surface, and the female part of the dental attachments provided on alveolar ridge or roots by this single brush. Thus, the present invention really has convenience and practicability, and the money for buying different toothbrush and denture brush is saved.

The tissue cleaning element region 114 includes a plurality of flexible, angled projections 120. The projections 120 are configured to flex from an at-rest position to a substantially flat position when the tissue cleaning element region 114 is in contact with the tongue and is pushed into the mouth. The projections 120 are also configured to flex to a substantially upright position when the tissue cleaning element region 114 is in contact with the tongue and is pulled out of the mouth. This arrangement aids in preventing debris from being pushed into the mouth and in removing debris from the mouth and tongue. The flexible projections 120 may be used in conjunction with rigid projections 122 having a generally vertical configuration to aid in removing debris from the mouth and in engaging the cheek to improve saliva production during brushing.

The devices, once inserted and positioned into the mouth to clean a pair or a set of opposing upper and lower teeth, can be maneuvered inside the mouth cavity from one side of the mouth to the other to clean all the teeth without requiring removal from the mouth and repositioning.

Abstract: A tooth polishing device includes a rubber or elastomeric surface for scrubbing or polishing teeth. The scrubbing surface is attached to a series of one or more deformable tubes that allow the scrubbing surface to flex away from the teeth as excessive pressure is applied. The tubes are aligned laterally to the face of a brush handle in order to provide the flexible support to the scrubbing surface. The tubes are formed of elastomeric material as well that may be softer than the material used for the scrubbing surface.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to toothbrushes and to methods of operating toothbrushes. In some embodiments, a method of operating a toothbrush includes measuring an actual cleaning time of a first teeth cleaning process, comparing the actual cleaning time of the first teeth cleaning process to a standard cleaning time, and determining a target cleaning time of a second, subsequent teeth cleaning process. In certain embodiments, the target cleaning time of the second teeth cleaning process is the standard cleaning time plus additional time when the actual cleaning time of the first cleaning process is less than the standard cleaning time.

When a pet dog bites a toothbrush with teeth during a tooth brushing, it is possible to prevent teeth from fracture while preventing a lot of pain occurring when teeth collide with a hard toothbrush. Toothbrush hairs planted in a head are shaped depending on a tooth shape of a pet dog, so it is possible to reliably brush off plague attached on the upper side of a cervical ridge of premolars and molars of a pet dog without applying over stimulation on the gum.

Abstract: A head for an electric toothbrush includes a support member having a plurality of holes extending completely therethrough. A plurality of tufts of bristles each extends through one of the holes. A first brushing end of each tuft projects from a first side of the support member. Each tuft is prevented from being withdrawn from its hole when a tensile force is applied to the first end of each tuft along a long axis of the tuft. A resilient cushion is positioned adjacent a second side of the support member such that a second end of each tuft can contact the cushion. When a compressive force is applied to the first end of each tuft along the long axis of each tuft, each tuft can move in its hole in a first direction into the cushion. When the compressive force is removed the cushion causes each tuft to move in its hole in a second direction substantially opposite the first direction.

Preferably, the replaceable toothbrush head is moved axially into engagement with the power element for alignment for coupling with the toothbrush main unit.

The toothbrush has a toothbrush body having a recess at one end thereof, and a piece of cut and flared Salvadora persica bristles received in the recess; the length of the bristles is greater than the depth of the recess so that the bristles extend from the toothbrush body. The toothbrush body has a handle at an end thereof opposite the recess; the handle may have a concave portion to provide convenient handling for a user. The bristles are press-fitted into the recess. The toothbrush body may advantageously be formed of a biodegradable material, so that the entire toothbrush is biodegradable. In addition, the bristles may have a flavoring.

Abstract: An oral care implement with an oral care region having cleaning elements for engaging oral tissue and a body for gripping the implement including a handle with a front and a removable faceplate is described. The removable faceplate may be transparent or translucent and may also include design features. The faceplate may provide protection to a user inscription surface on one of the surfaces of the handle which is may be configured to receive user indicia that may later be removed and further indicia provided. A method for marketing the oral care implement and various features of the oral care implement including one or more thematic faceplates is also contemplated and described.

The toothbrush may include a voltage source and a first set of electrodes for applying an electrical potential to the electrolyte. The toothbrush may also include a second set of electrodes disposed about an anode of the first set of electrodes. The first and second sets of anodes cooperate to produce ions, peroxides, ozone and/or other chemical agents via the application of electrical potential to the electrolyte.
