The pivotal coupling member has separate positions including a rest position in which the broom head rests on the rest surface of the broom plate so that the handle is substantially upright to maintain the broom free-standing and an action position in which the handle is pivoted relative to the broom head so as to enable the sweeping action of the broom head by a user.

Abstract: A convertible broom having a broom head able to be selectively latched in either of two pivoted angular positions with respect to a broom handle. A latch mechanism includes a sleeve grip slidable on the handle to move a locking feature into and out of engagement with either of two locator features or pairs of locator features on a head bracket pivotally mounted to one end of the handle. On locator feature (or pair of features) is aligned with the locking feature with the broom head in a straight configuration, the other locator feature aligned with the locking feature with the broom head in a push broom configuration.

Abstract: An improved swab device includes a handle member having a swab portion and a hinge. The hinge divides the handle member into a handle portion and a controllable portion. The device further includes a first stop member and a second stop member. The controllable portion may articulate from a rest position in a first direction until it is retained in a first retained position. The first stop member is configured to prohibit the swab portion from articulating any further in a first direction and also may be configured to maintain the swab portion in the first retained position. The swab portion may then be released from the first retained position and articulate in an opposite second direction until it is retained in a second position. The second stop member is configured to prohibit the swab from articulating any further in a second direction and also may be configured to maintain the swab portion in the second retained position.

Abstract: A brush device can be releasably attached to a distal end of a pool broom and has a plurality of strategically placed brushes which brushingly engage the surfaces of the beams of a pool cage to clean those surfaces. The brushes are mounted on a head that can be angularly adjusted so the brushes will engage the cage surfaces in a manner which is conducive to thorough cleaning of those surfaces. The brushes are releasably mounted so they can be removed for cleaning or replacement.

The ergonomical handle has an angled neck, over molded soft grips and additional, replaceable heads are stored inside the hollow handle. The head rotates into multiple angles. Primary embodiment is manual, but other embodiments may allow for mechanical applications that include agitating or reciprocating articulation powered by a motor.

The cleaning implements of the cleaning head extend substantially perpendicular from the bottom surface of the cleaning head. The scrubber is moveable between at least a horizontal position and a vertical position.

Abstract: A collapsible broom and dustpan provide convenient, compact storage for use in RVs, mobile homes, efficiency apartments and the like with limited closet and storage space. The broom includes a standard telescoping handle which is affixed to a pivot joint on the broom head. The handle can be extended and rotated to a variety of selected angles. Tabs on the locking member within the pivot joint engage the handle girdle which surrounds the locking member. The locking member is spring loaded to maintain the handle at a desired position. The dustpan includes a handgrip which will accommodate the broom handle while the dustpan tray receives the broom head for compact storage. C-shaped clamps within the grip and a catch within the dustpan tray hold the broom within the dustpan until manually released therefrom.

The cleaning element of the brush includes a plate(s) with opening through which the bristles protrude. When the plate is expanded, the plate pushes any hairs entwined in the bristles to the tips of the bristles where they are removed. The brush also has a post mechanism, which allows for the adjustment of the cleaning element to various intermediary positions, effectively adjusting the length of the bristles for use of the brush.

Abstract: An adjoined flexible two-piece swivel joint type floor cleaning attachment in which either upper or lower and/or both sections are made from a unitary flexible elastomer material allowing for a unitary quick release clamp mechanism that adjoins to a cleaning head apparatuses. The combination of the quick release unitary flexible clamp mechanism adjoined to a jam/stop swivel mechanism allows for small cleaning devices, such as scrub brushes, wall washers, abrasive pad holders, etc. to be easily engaged and disengaged allowing the cleaning device to also be used as a hand held device. Furthermore, swivel type floor cleaning devices will no longer need their own swivel type connector affixed onto the cleaning head thus making the cleaning products more cost efficient.

The applicator includes an elongated handle having an applicating end portion formed at the opposed ends thereof which may be either of like or unlike construction, i.e. formed as a brush and/or a flocked applicating end portion. The flock may extend from the distal end a predetermined longitudinal distance over an extended portion. Intermediate the opposed applicating end portion, the elongated handle is provided with a circumscribing groove to define a frangible area by which the user, at his or her option, can cleanly sever the applicator handle to form two separate and distinct applicators. The applicator is also provided with a hinging arrangement adjacent the opposed applicating end portions whereby the applicating end portions may be angularly bent relative to the elongated handle at the option of the user.

Locking systems are provided to secure the handle and cleaning head in position.

Abstract: A toothbrush with a flexible head is disclosed. At least the head of the toothbrush may be manufactured by in-molded technology. A blend of thermoplastic elastomer and polypropylene is used to impart added flexibility to the head. That flexibility is further enhanced by the tapered profile of the head. Cleaning elements may be secured in place during manufacture using in-molded techniques or staples.

Abstract: A hairbrush and method of brushing are provided in which tangled hair may be brushed out at a better rate and with less pain. The hairbrush includes bristles that are mounted on revolving track portions so that when the bristles encounter a tangle or a resistance in the hair, the bristles are free to rotate. The hairbrush further includes a thumb button to adjust the resistance of the revolving track portion from a freely rotating position to a fixed position.

The base also has an upper portion with a receiver that slidingly engages a projection extending from a paint applicator. The paint applicator may be a paint brush, roller or pad with an applicator surface. The first and second adjustment assemblies each include a fastener and an arrangement of mating members that intermesh with another arrangement of mating members, wherein the fastener provides tension between the arrangements to releasably secure the angular or rotational position.

Abstract: The brush and handle assembly described herein are specifically designed to scrub and clean all interior surfaces of a bathtub. The elongated handle and brush-head are designed and constructed to permit pivoting the brush-head relative to the handle, but the pivoting movement is confined to a range of 0° to less than 180°. In the preferred embodiment of the disclosed brush, the range of pivoting movement is about 135°. Limiting the pivotal movement of the brush-head relative to the handle enables the user of the disclosed bathtub brush to scrub and clean, easily and efficiently, all interior surfaces, including the interior far-side, the interior near-side, the interior ends and the bottom surface of the typical bathtub without uncomfortable body contortions.

The knob is connected to a gear that pushes against the feedstock, driving the brush through an aperture in the angled portion of the handle. Within the cartridge, the feedstock is removably attached to one swivel and is wrapped around a second swivel. The swivels have a brake that produces a taut feedstock as the brush is fed out. The cartridge may contain a single roll with a brake instead of a pair of swivels.

A lower layer of the holding sheets and the cleaning base sheet are symmetrically cut to form strip-like cleaning pieces. The filaments of the fibrous-filament layer include numerous tiny pores disposed thereon. The handle includes a grip portion and a connector portion. A coupling block is disposed on the grip portion and includes inserting posts and pivoting grooves to respectively engage with pivoting holes and a pivoting rod of the connector portion thereby. The grip portion is mounted pivotally onto the connector portion having retaining rods to be engaged with holding spaces of the thermo-fusion bonded duster body. The tiny pores disposed at the fibrous-filament layer absorb and trap small grains of dust. The grip portion of the handle may be bent for folding.

The pinion gears engage a centrally located rack so that when a user pushes up on an actuation button attached to the rack, the brushes rotate out into a T position. They are held in a T position by a spring biased post. The user can press on the post to return the brush heads to the side by side position.

The bristle rod is positioned within the barrel, and the bristles extend through the barrel apertures in an extended position. The brush head and the bristle/handle assembly are not attached to each other, and instead they slide longitudinally relative to each other. When the handle and the barrel are slid apart from each other, the bristle rod travels with the handle to retract the bristles to a retracted positioned further within the barrel.

The handgrip has a bore, where the insert is press-fitted within the bore of the handgrip and a pair of opposite protruding tabs extending outward for preventing transverse movement of the shaft portion of the scraper within the bore of the handgrip. The coil spring is located between the head portion and the handgrip for absorbing the impact force of the reciprocation movement of the head portion of the scraper. The O-ring is located between the head portion and the coil spring to further absorbs the impact force of the head portion of the scraper.

Abstract: A snow tool for removing snow from vehicles having a telescopic handle and a brush disposable either longitudinally or transversally. The telescopic handle has first and second members connected in a sliding relationship and providing retracted and extended states of the handle. The handle of this design is composed of a suitable material having a varying thickness along its length. The handle having a section that partially encircles the “U” shaped component. The handle component has a hook at one end of one of the legs that receives the end of the other leg. This locks the handle in place on the “U” shaped component. When unlocked, the handle is capable of being moved along the length of the “U” shape to achieve the desired angle.
