Abstract: A cleaning swab has an elongated handle defining a longitudinal axis and having a diameter. The handle has a cleaning head end. A cleaning head is formed from a sheet of non-linting material having a predetermined thickness so as to form a predetermined cleaning head diameter. The material forms a seal-less tip and a pair of longitudinal side seals extending along longitudinal sides of the cleaning head. Excess material forms a cleaning surface suitable for standard polish and angle physical connector polished end faces. A sleeve has a central opening for receiving the handle such that the cleaning head extends beyond an open end of the sleeve. Use of a first predetermined thickness of material forms a first swab having a cleaning head having a first diameter cleaning head and use of a second different predetermined thickness of material forms a second swab having a second different diameter. The sleeve is configured to interchangeably receive the first swab and the second swab.

Abstract: A tool for cleaning thin ducts and/or channels (“ducts”) including the mouthpiece blowing duct(s) of musical instruments such as recorders and whistles, which tool is a thin plastic-like strip with a tongue (forward) portion followed by a corrugation pattern of wave-like surfaces which must compress in order for the tool to enter and pass through the duct to be cleaned. The user threads the tongue through the duct and grabs the finger-hold portion revealed, then pulls the tool completely through; as the compressed wave-like surfaces travel through the duct they act like squeegees, cleaning the walls and carrying the moisture and debris out; the compressed surfaces decompress/relax once outside the duct restriction. The user cleans the dirty tool on a tissue or towel and the tool is ready for reuse. The tool can be inexpensively mass produced by common methods.
Abstract: A device made of flexible material for cleaning sharp-tipped dental instruments. The device contains a) a finger rest, b) a stem, and c) an open container having a textured exterior surface, an interior surface, and a top. The exterior surface may have a girth near the top. The interior surface may be rough and contain a plurality of prongs and ribs. The top has a protective rim. For use, gauze is put into the container and the gauze is contacted with the sharp tip of the dental instrument. Pressure is applied to the container to help create a firm contact between the gauze and the instrument. The prongs help to keep the gauze in place while the instrument is being removed. The use of this device helps prevent puncture wounds or cuts caused by the dental instrument and the accompanying possibility of infection.
