Special Work Patents (Class 15/210.1)
  • Patent number: 7530138
Abstract: A toilet bowl cleaning tool comprising a hollow curved elongated outer member with a handle at the proximal end and a head at the distal end, an inner member and a disposable swab that attaches to the head. The inner member moves linearly inside the outer member, controlled by a button that protrudes through a longitudinal slot in the top of the outer member. Movement of the button affixes the disposable swab to and releases it from the head by actuating radially outwardly projecting detents which are radially expandable and retractable. When the swab is attached to the head, the detents positively engage a receptacle in the swab by gripping the end of the receptacle distant from the handle. The cleaning swab comprises multiple cleaning surfaces of loops of strips of biodegradable sheet material surrounding a biodegradable receptacle and is infused or impregnated with cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.

  • Patent number: 7530137
Abstract: An apparatus includes an elongated pole that has opposed proximal and distal ends. The distal end has a threaded outer surface tapered inwardly so that the distal end has a diameter smaller than a diameter of the pole. An applicator section is attachable to the pole and protrudes distally therefrom, and becomes flush with an outer surface of the pole. The applicator section is sized and shaped such that the user can paint an elevated corner surface defined between a wall and an acoustic ceiling while minimizing smearing of paint on the ceiling. Lateral sides of the applicator section are linearly shaped, assisting the user to paint the corner surface without smearing the ceiling. A shielding mechanism, protruding upwardly from the applicator section, shields lateral sides of the applicator section and thereby prevents the painting of ceiling adjoining the corner surface.

Abstract: A mountable scrubber comprised of a rectangular base (not to exclude other shapes) with scrubbing element attached to the surface to be applied to the skin and suction cups on the opposite side for attaching to a fixed surface as desired. Subsequent units will have a rear mounted hand strap allowing easier hand operation while still maintaining it's mountable qualities. The scrubbing surface is of synthetic mesh material, which can be varied in texture (soft or firm) and size (the actual opening in the mesh) to increase and/or decrease the amount of exfoliation produced. This scrubber has particular utility not only in scrubbing and massaging but also in exfoliating and stimulating the dermis layer of the body, in particular the back area. • Publication number: 20080184513
Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning the ferrule end surface of an optical fiber that has been installed in a connector, such as a connector coupler or bulkhead receptacle, comprises a cleaning head (22a, 22b, 22c). The cleaning head is made from thermally sintered polymers, e.g., thermally sintered particles and/or thermally sintered strands and provides a matrix of open-celled multi-directional pores. The cleaning head has zones (26, 28, 32) of increasing polymer densities from compression zone (26) to sidewall cleaning zone (28) to base zone (32). The cleaning head serves to lift, absorb, trap and remove contamination from the ferrule end faces (14a, 14b, 14c) and the end face of the optical fiber therein. The open-celled structure of the cleaning head (22a, 22b, 22c) allows the contact surface to compress both laterally and radially where it contacts the ferrule end, thus permitting effective cleaning for all ferrule end designs. The cleaning head may be used either dry or with a cleaning solvent.

  • Patent number: 7392563
Abstract: An improved device for cleaning probe pins of a probe head assembly is presented. The device includes a first holding plate, a second holding plate and a cleaning cartridge. The first holding plate secures the probe head assembly. The second holding plate secures the cleaning cartridge in proximity to the first holding plate. The cleaning cartridge has a chamber. The chamber includes a cleaning solution and an absorbent pad located therein. The absorbent pad is saturated with the cleaning solution and prevents leakage of the cleaning solution out of the chamber. During cleaning operations, the first holding plate is positioned about the second holding plate such that the probe pins of a probe head extend into and contact the absorbent pad in the chamber. Once contact is established, the cleaning solution acts upon the probe pin tips to remove unwanted debris. A depth of penetration of the pins into the pad is controlled by a surface of the cartridge.
