  • Patent number: 6283274
Abstract: The present invention describes a tensioner that automatically increases the effective torque on the support arm over time. The tensioner is comprised of a torsion cam engaging the support arm of the scraper blade assembly, a torsion cable engaging the cam, a tension rod with a spring surrounding the rod secured to the torsion cable. Over time, as the scraper blade wears down and the spring force decreases, the torsion cam is slowly rotated to increase the torque arm of the invention and thereby increase the effective torque on the support arm and compensate for the decrease in spring force. This invention may be adapted for use with any existing scraper blade assembly.

  • Publication number: 20010018003
Abstract: A cleaning device, being part of a copying or printing system, for removing residual developer from the surface of an image-delivering member is described. The device comprises a cleaning brush in rolling contact with the surface of the image-delivering member for removing residual developer therefrom. A biased collecting roller is in rolling contact with the revolving brush. The collecting roller is biased such as to attract the residual developer from the cleaning brush and to collect it onto its surface. A trailing cleaning blade has a forward end portion in frictional contact with the collecting roller. The trailing cleaning blade is in contact with the cleaning roller at a contact position where the collecting roller is moving in an upward direction. Also disclosed is a method for removing developer from a surface of an image-delivering member.

  • Patent number: 6267818
Abstract: An applicator assembly is provided for depositing various kinds of viscous, spreadable media onto workpieces, such as circuit boards and metal and ceramic substrates, and includes a blade structure having a metal blade portion and a plastic blade portion joined together along one of their respective longitudinal edges. The blade structure is removably attachable to a blade holder and is reversible so that the metal blade can be secured to the blade holder which is mounted to a screen and stencil printer, thus exposing the plastic blade portion for use in screen and stencil printing operations. Alternatively, the blade structure can be secured to the blade holder thereby exposing the metal blade portion for use in screen and stencil printing operations.

  • Patent number: 6247200
Abstract: An apparatus on which scrapers for extensible machine slideway guards are mounted comprises a mounting frame consisting of a plurality of single lengths of section fitted together in pairs where the two lengths meet at one corner; and connecting squares having first contact faces which lie flat against opposing perimetric faces of the lengths of section. The lengths of section have a longitudinal groove in which the scrapers are retained and from which the scrapers extend outwards towards a contiguous slideway. The squares are positioned on the frame close to the corners and comprise second faces that are in contact with the scrapers and that, together with the perimetric faces of the lengths of section, form a gap contiguous to the squares. The ends of two adjacent scrapers are held together firmly and permanently within this gap. The invention also relates to a method for constructing the frame.
