Abstract: A nesting paint bucket and tray system includes a paint bucket and a paint tray. The paint bucket has an open upper end with an upper edge defined around the open upper end and a receptacle for holding paint. The paint tray has a depth that is less than the depth of the paint bucket and has an upper edge that is shaped and sized to seat on the upper edge of the paint bucket to permit the paint tray to nest inside the paint bucket. The upper edge of the paint tray supports the weight of the paint tray and any paint inside the tray. The paint tray provides an elevated work surface relative to a paint level in the paint bucket. A tool storage receptacle and a gripping portion for a paint tray is also disclosed.

Abstract: A paint tray assembly for use with a paint roller includes a pan. The pan has a top that is open so that the pan is configured to position paint. A first plate is coupled to and extends transversely from an upper perimeter of the pan. An edge of the first plate is distal to the pan and elevated relative to the upper perimeter. The first plate is configured to direct excess paint from a roller to the pan. A rod is coupled to and extends transversely from a lower surface of the first plate proximate to the pan. A lower terminus of the rod is substantially coplanar with a bottom of the pan. The rod is positioned to stabilize the pan on a substantially horizontal surface. The rod also is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user to lift the pan.

The side wall has a first minor section and a second minor section. The first and second minor sections are located adjacent to the first and second openings respectively. The first and second minor sections are spaced from the axis by secondary distances greater than the primary distances.

Abstract: A paint tray includes front and rear walls, first and second side walls, a bottom wall and an inclined ramp. The inclined ramp includes first and second raised runners protruding from the inclined ramp so as to be raised relative to a central portion of the inclined ramp. A recessed space is defined between the first and second raised runners and the central portion of the inclined ramp. The paint tray further includes a well and first and second recessed gutters for directing paint into the well. The paint tray is configured such that when a paint roller cover is rolled along the inclined ramp, the first and second raised runners, together with the recessed space of the inclined ramp, increase the amount of paint distributed onto a center portion of the paint roller cover and decrease the amount of paint distributed onto ends of the paint roller cover.

The first fines side having a first fines opening proximate the discharge end. The second fines side having a second fines opening proximate the discharge end.

Abstract: A paint tray liner bag can fully encapsulate a rigid paint tray and fully form to the shape of the rigid paint tray. The paint tray liner bag includes a bag flap that folds over to the bottom of the rigid paint tray and has holes to receive the legs of the rigid paint tray, thereby securing the paint tray liner bag on the rigid paint tray. Unlike rigid paint trays, that do not fit well into sinks and have ridges that can be difficult to clean, the paint tray liner bag can be removed from the rigid paint tray and easily cleaned due to its smooth surface and flexibility to fit into a user's sink.

Abstract: A container system for holding paint for use by a person while painting a surface with a paint roller or a paint brush includes a container comprised of five panels that fold from a relatively flat collapsed configuration into a container configuration that includes four side walls and a bottom wall. The top end of the container is open and exposes an internal volume that is sized to allow the paint brush and the paint roller through the open top end to access the internal volume. A flexible, liquid-impervious bag is open at one end thereof and adapted to fit within the internal volume of the container when the container is in the container configuration. The flexible bag may include a drain aperture in a bottom side thereof that is selectively sealable by an adhesive tape closure. A support brace and a detachable hand-carried mini-pail may be further included.

Abstract: A fluid medium holding device may include a holder body having a plurality of side walls, a bottom wall and an opening defined by the side walls that allows access to an interior space of the holder body. The holding device may also include a first handle attached to the first wall of the holder body and pivotable about a first pivot axis; and a second handle attached to the second wall of the holder body and pivotable about a second pivot axis. The first and second handles can be folded on an upper edge of the holder body with the first and second handles positioned generally parallel to each other.

A ramp wall extends inward and upward from an inner perimeter of the base ring to the sloped ramp and the engagement platform. The handle extends from an outer perimeter of the peripheral wall, adjacent the engagement platform. A drain spout is formed through the peripheral wall on an end opposite the handle. A second embodiment of the moveable paint tray does not include a hood for nesting multiple units together.

Abstract: An apparatus for wetting a roller (e.g. with paint) includes a liquid containment area having a first side wall, a second side wall, a first end wall and a second end wall, and a sloping bottom section connected to form a rectangular container capable of holding a liquid. The sloping bottom section slopes such that a first end of the rectangular container is deeper than a distal opposing end such that the liquid tends to drain and pool in the first end. A lip extends inwardly continuously around the top edges of the side walls. The lip reduces spilling of paint, adds stiffness to the tray, and provides a base for the attachment of a roller cleaning mesh. In some embodiments, a roller cleaning mesh is mounted to the lip above the first end for rolling a roller over to remove debris from the roller.

Abstract: A ladder tool is disclosed and is useful for supporting tools safely, including tools with hoses or cords attached to them. Disclosed embodiments include a support for inserting into a hollow ladder rung, and a tool holder attached to the support structure. The tool holder has an incomplete polygonal shape and provides an opening for the hose or cord to enter and exit the tool holder, so that the operation of passing the hose or cord through the opening can be performed with one hand. The disclosure also includes a support extension that passes clear through the hollow rung of a ladder has a safety tab that rotates down by gravity to prevent the ladder tool from accidently being pulled out or displaced from the ladder rung.

Abstract: A paint roller tray mounting device includes a platform with a width sized to fit between first and second side rung supports of a ladder or step ladder, a length to support a paint roller tray with at least two tabs located at upper edges of the tray. The tabs have mounting holes in them. The platform has a recess in an upper surface sized and shaped to provide a gripping surface for a ladder rung. At least two bolts are symmetrically attached through opposite edges of the platform. The bolts extend from a lower surface of the platform through the mounting holes in the tabs at the upper edge of the paint roller tray. The bolts are tightened, urging the tray and the platform together. The platform is located beneath and the paint roller tray is located above the ladder rung or a top shelf of a step ladder.

Abstract: A paint tray with disposable liner system generally comprises two components, a paint tray base, and a liner holding frame which cooperatively engages with the paint tray base to securely hold a paint tray liner therebetween so as to position the paint tray liner overtop of the interior surface of the paint tray base. The paint tray base has a bumper extending around the periphery of the paint tray base from the exterior surface of its walls. The liner holding frame is sized to slidingly fit onto the paint tray base and engage the bumper, wherein engagement of the liner holding frame with the bumper securely fixes a paint tray liner in place therebetween. A cover can optionally be included in the system that includes a cover holding frame sized to fit on top of the paint tray base above the liner holding frame, wherein the cover holding frame comprises a channel to receive a top end of a corresponding wall of the paint tray base to securely fix the paint tray cover in place therebetween.

Abstract: An attachable work tray assembly includes a work tray, having a bottom and a wall encircling the bottom, a swingable arm pivotally connected to a side of the work tray and a fastening set for holding the swingable arm and the work tray in position. The swingable arm has a pivot end and an attaching end. The pivot end has a plurality of positioning portions, and the attaching end is provided with a magnet. The fastening set has a fastening member and a knob. The fastening member has one end thereof provided with a buckle that is configured to selectively engage with one of the positioning portions of the corresponding swingable arm. By rotating the knob, the fastening member is forced to move toward the wall of the work tray.

Abstract: A rollable paint tray which will be maneuvered on a floor by the painter manipulating an extended handle of a paint roller assembly is disclosed. The tray will have a body, a plurality of rolling members and a structural configuration which permits placement of the paint roller on the tray where it will remain in contact during maneuvering of the tray by the painter. The body has a paint containment area, a paint roller containment area and a rolling surface area. The painter may easily replenish fresh paint on the paint roller and roll the paint roller to obtain a desired quantity and uniformity of coverage on the paint roller. The tray permits the painter to paint a large area, along a great distance, while remaining standing straight. This eliminates the conventional need for the painter to manually move their supply of fresh paint which often involves bending or squatting.

Abstract: This device is comprised of a paint tray, a handle, an attachable and removable paint screen, a canopy, and ladder step hooks. The screen attaches to the paint tray, which allows painters to roll off excess paint from their paint rollers. The excess paint will drip through the screen and drain to the deep end of the paint tray. The canopy, handle, and attachable paint screen provide painters with an alternative option of using the device in a vertical position rather than a horizontal position. The canopy additionally obstructs paint from spilling out when a painter is dipping the paint roller in the paint at the deep end of the paint tray and prevents any remaining paint in the tray from being contaminated with debris. The canopy and handle also provide painters with an option of holding the paint tray and a paint roller in each hand.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an assembly including a paint tray liner for protecting a paint tray from coming in contact with paint being held within the tray. The assembly includes a flexible plastic member having a generally rectangular shape and including an open end to receive the paint tray within the flexible plastic member, a sealing strip coupled to the flexible plastic member located proximate to the open end of the flexible plastic member, and a vacuum valve coupled to a side of the flexible plastic member to remove air from the flexible plastic member to create a vacuum within the flexible plastic member and form the flexible plastic member to the contours of the paint tray. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing and using the paint tray liner.

Abstract: There is provided a paint distributing plate system for insertion into a paint bucket having an external upper rim. The paint distributing plate system comprises a paint distributing plate with a lower part and an upper part, where the lower part has a width being smaller than the diameter of the largest cross-sectional dimension of the paint bucket, and a pair of adjustable attachment hook arrangements provided on the upper part of the paint distributing plate, one on each side of the paint distributing plate, for securing the paint distributing plate to the upper rim of the paint bucket.

Abstract: A paint tray accessory and assembly provides a membrane cover for use with a paint tray and paint roller of conventional manufacture. The membrane cover comprises a first frame member, a second frame member and a fluid regulating membrane. The membrane is flexible and stretchable which provides means for more evenly coating the sleeve of a paint roller during use of the assembly. The membrane also provides a tractive surface for the paint roller sleeve. The frame members are configured to retain the membrane within the frame members and to protect the membrane during use. The first frame member is intended to remain in position while the second frame member is Flexibly rotatable relative to the first frame member at he points of certain breaks between the two frame members, also considered a “hinged” point.

Abstract: A paint grid for removing excess fluid from a roller type applicator. The paint grid comprises a sheet of material having a plurality of openings therein. The sheet has a length and a width that is less than its length. The sheet has a substantially planar central portion and sloped edge margins extending from the central portion. The sloped edge margins include a sloped edge margin extending lengthwise along one edge of the sheet and a sloped edge margin extending widthwise along another edge of the sheet.

Abstract: A grid paint scooping device which is an article of manufacture comprising; a vertical elongated substantially flat grid which is partially immersed into a paint container with a handle at the top of said flat grid and attached at the bottom of the flat grid is an outwardly extending horizontal scooping reservoir which is substantially parallel to the bottom of said paint container during paint scooping events, wherein said grid paint scooping device uses said scooping reservoir for lifting a sufficient amount of paint out of the paint container for the purpose of saturating a roller cover with said paint in the reservoir and removing the excessive paint from the roller cover by use of said flat grid to allow the right amount of the paint to be evenly distributed on the surface of the roller cover before painting objects with the roller cover.

Abstract: A dual paint roller has a pliers-like construction to allow for the roller covers to be moved closer together or farther apart depending upon the surface to be painted. Dual-roller covers are disposed on pivotable roller arms such that the relative angle of one roller cover to the other roller cover can be adjusted depending upon the surface to be painted. The pivot point of the pliers-like construction is switchable such that the pliers selectively apply complementary or opposite movement to the roller covers. A paint tray with divider for use in combination with the dual-roller cover paint roller. A stencil tube slidably engaging with a roller cover to easily apply a repeating stencil pattern to a surface.

Abstract: A paint pan and integrated paint utensil cleaner for the removal of excess paint from paint tools used in commercial and residential painting procedures. The paint tray and integrated cleaner includes a vessel for the retention of paint as well as a compression paint utensil cleaner. The compression based paint utensil cleaner compresses excess paint from the paint utensil and directs the excess paint back into the vessel for storage. The paint pan also includes two flanges or foot rests for securing the paint pan to a flat surface during the cleaning operation. A variety of diameters and configurations of paint pan can be accommodated by the proposed invention.

Abstract: Recycled paper pulp is processed to form a rigid paint tray base. The paint tray base is then laminated with a film, which may be fully or partially recyclable and/or biodegradable. The film prevents saturation of the pulp from the paint's moisture, which would damage the integrity of the pulp. Once the painting is completed, the film may be separated from the pulp base. The pulp base may then be discarded with wastepaper or used for compost. The film may be recycled or disposed of with other non-biodegradable waste.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a roller for coating a curved surface. The roller includes a handle and a concave sleeve rotatably mounted thereto. The concave sleeve includes an outer surface that is curved inwardly. The concave sleeve can include an outer layer, such as a fibrous layer or nap, which defines the outer surface. The concave sleeve includes a core for supporting the outer layer and having means for mounting the concave sleeve to a handle, such as an axial passage defined by the core. The core can be formed of one or more components.

Abstract: A paint pan has a generally rectangular box shape and an inclined rub plate extends down into the pan from a front wall. A partial roof extends from the top edge of the back wall, and a partial opening is formed generally above the rub plate and between the top edge of the front wall and the partial roof. When the pan is in a “use” position, paint may be poured into the pan through the partial open roof and it will flow to the floor. The pan is dimensioned so that a roller brush may be inserted through the partial opening to the floor of the pan beneath the partial roof. A handle is provided on the front wall and when the pan is lifted by the handle, paint flows into a storage volume defined in part by the floor, a left wall, a right wall, the back wall and partial roof.

Abstract: Liquids in general, and paint in particular, can be evenly distributed by a paint transfer drum having a friction-creating surface that is placed in contact with a friction-receiving surface of an endless belt that is driven (by the drum as it rotates) into and out of a container for the liquid. A scraper removes a portion of the lifted liquid from the endless belt. The scraped liquid falls upon a liquid distribution device that serves to evenly distribute said liquid laterally so that it will be evenly applied along the exterior surface of the paint transfer drum.

Abstract: A paint tray has side walls with hook-shaped extensions which are engageable with a rung of a ladder to enable the paint tray to be hung therefrom. The side walls also have wall-like extensions adjacent the opposite end. The base has an extension extending between the wall-like extensions and having a reversely bent portion to form a paint reservoir when the paint tray is upright. The wall-like extensions have hook-shaped portions adjacent the upper front edge of the paint reservoir which are engageable with a rung of a ladder with the paint reservoir behind the rung when the hook-shaped extensions are engaged with a higher rung.

When the combination has a lid, the lid is removed for insertion of the applicator for the exertion of downward pressure.

The adapter is provided with a V-shaped grille which has a plurality of holes. The grille is elongated like a trough. Part of the length of the grille is submerged in the coating material and part is not. The trough along which the roller cover roles makes it possible for the roller cover to pick up paint from the reservoir of the paint pan and to remove excess coating material from the roller cover and return it top the reservoir.

The shape of the lid corresponds to the interior of the paint tray so that the volume of air sealed in the paint try by the lid is minimized. The bottom, furthermore, has a front bottom section and a rear bottom section as well as a middle section connecting the two. The front bottom section of the paint roller tray is deeper than the rear bottom section. The rear bottom section is also provided with ribs and is an additional surface for rolling paint off a roller.
