Abstract: A lightweight mobile and efficient apparatus for cleaning fabrics by the simultaneous application thereto of steam and vacuum comprises a trolley having a lower deck which supports a water tank and a vacuum tank, and a detachable upper deck on which at least one motor, pump and ancillary components thereof are mounted.
Abstract: A housing in a vacuum cleaner is subdivided into a first space and a separate second space which does not communicate with the first space but is in heat-exchanging relationship with the first space. An impeller is located in the second space for sucking dust-laden air into one end of the second space and discharging it out the other. The drive motor for the impeller means is located in the first space. Thus, the drive means is not contacted by the dust-laden air passing through the second space but is nevertheless cooled by such dust-laden air.

Abstract: A vacuum cleaner construction wherein the carriage wheels are driven by an electric motor. An improved air flow arrangement is associated with the drive motor for conducting relatively clean cooling air into the motor for heat transfer therefrom, and conducting the cooling air from the motor for delivery with air conducted from a suction inlet to a suction fan.
