  • Patent number: 12226611
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for applying negative pressure to a wound site. In some embodiments, the apparatus comprises a source of negative pressure, a processing element, and a memory comprising instructions configured to, when executed on the processing element, cause the apparatus to attempt to generate, via the source of negative pressure, a desired negative pressure at the wound site. If the desired negative pressure has not been generated after a first predetermined period of time, the instructions cause the apparatus to: deactivate the source of negative pressure for a second predetermined period of time, and subsequently attempt to generate the desired negative pressure at the wound site.

Abstract: An adjustable vacuum pan assembly for a belt filter is disclosed. The adjustable vacuum pan assembly comprises an arm configured to be attached to a frame portion of the filter, a vacuum pan adjustably connected to the arm, and a cam operatively coupled to the arm. The cam is rotatable with respect to the arm and has a peripheral surface which contacts a portion of the vacuum pan. The assembly further comprises a locking member which serves to hold the cam against rotation with respect to the arm. Varying an angular rotational position of the cam effectively varies a spacing between the vacuum pan and the arm, thereby providing an amount of misalignment compensation therebetween. Retrofit kits for a preexisting conventional filter and methods of providing increased adjustability to a filter are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8840730
Abstract: A machine for cleaning a head-disk assembly (HDA) of a hard disk drive (HDD) includes a nest that seals the HDA between an upper and lower portion during cleaning. An inlet port receives a gas and an exhaust port exhausts the gas and entrained particles. A shock drive delivers mechanical shocks to the nest and the HDA while the gas is flowing through the HDA. A blower may circulate the gas from the exhaust port to the inlet port. A filter may be coupled to the inlet port. The HDA nest may be movable along an axis of the mechanical shocks delivered by the shock drive. A blow tube may deliver gas to a screw hole and a coaxial vacuum tube may rest against a surface around the screw hole to encapsulate the blow tube during cleaning and remove the gas and particles from the screw hole.
