Abstract: A head cover capable of being used for receiving golf clubs of various kinds and various sizes, is disclosed. The head cover for golf clubs of this invention comprises a head protection part. The head protection part consists of an outer layer defining a cavity therein and a liner provided within the cavity to define a head pocket for receiving the head of a golf club therein. The liner consists of upper and lower parts, the upper and lower parts of the liner being integrated into a single structure with an elastic band loop interposed between the upper and lower parts. The head cover for a golf club of this invention covers more securely any kind of or any size of golf club head, is reduced in the production cost, and is convenient to the golfer in use.

A golf club cavity is formed on one end and an inverted “V” opening on the other end.

Abstract: A head cover for covering a head and an adjacent shaft portion of a golf club including an outer sleeve and an inner liner each of which has a generally tubular configuration with a closed upper end and open bottom end. The open bottom ends of the outer sleeve and the inner liner are sewn together with an inverted V-shaped slot extending from the open bottom ends toward the closed upper ends thereof. The longitudinal dimension of the inner liner is less than the longitudinal dimension of the outer sleeve to provide a gap between the closed upper ends of the inner liner and the outer sleeve. When installed on a golf club, the head of the golf club pushes the closed upper end of the inner liner into engagement with the closed upper end of the outer sleeve closing the gap and partially closing the open bottom end of the inner liner. This closes the inverted V-shaped slots in the outer sleeve and the inner liner. The golf club head cover may be provided with a detachable identification tag.

Abstract: A device for protecting a putter head and repairing ball marks includes a body having a protective face for abutting a face of the putter head, at least one prong extending from the body for repairing ball marks and a detachable affixing member for detachably securing the device to the putter head to protect the putter face. In one preferred embodiment a rear face of the body is provided with an absorbent pad for cleaning a golf ball.

Abstract: A golf club head cover that fits a variety of different sized club heads. The golf club head cover has a hollow head cover portion with an upper end and a lower end, the upper end closed and the lower end open, an elongated shaft protector extending downwardly from the lower end of the head cover portion, and a knit sock disposed inside the head cover portion. The knit sock inside the head cover portion functions to provide a tight fit around the club head and secure the golf club head cover in place. The present invention also includes a method of protecting golf club heads of various sizes through use of a golf club head cover having a knit sock disposed within the head cover.

In the head cover, a tubular member defines a head pocket therein to receive a club head, with first and second openings being formed at both ends of the tubular member. A cap member is detachably mounted to the first opening of the tubular member to close the first opening. A guide member is detachably mounted to the second opening of the tubular member. The guide member is expandable and contractible, thus guiding entrance and exit of the head relative to the head pocket and protecting the head end portion of the shaft. In the guide member, a ring is integrated with a shaft protection part and is mounted to the second opening of the tubular member. The tubular member has a shape retaining frame, with a cloth part provided on the internal and external surfaces of the frame. The cap member has a cap frame having a window, with a cloth part provided on the cap frame for covering interior and exterior surfaces of the cap frame.

Abstract: A protective cover for a golf club which includes a cylindrical shaft cover having a cutout formed at the middle portion of the shaft cover, a slit extending longitudinally along the side wall of the shaft cover, and an unfolding groove or hinge extending longitudinally along the shaft cover opposite the slit. The shaft cover can be easily unfolded upon being bent at the cutout and can be easily recovered to its original state because it is made of a flexible resilient material.

Abstract: An apparatus for use with a golf bag serves to secure and protect golf clubs contained in the golf bag. The apparatus includes at least one club head securing member for simultaneously securing one or more selected golf clubs contained in the golf bag. The club head securing member is provided with a middle portion for covering at least a portion of club heads of the selected golf clubs. Two extended portions are provided for allowing said middle portion to hold the selected golf clubs down onto the golf bag with a predetermined pressure, wherein one end of each extended portion integrally is extended from said middle portion. An attachment member is provided for detachably and length-adjustably attaching the other end of each extended portion to an upper portion of the golf bag to thereby maintain the predetermined pressure. The apparatus further includes a golf bag cover designed to fit over one or more club head securing member to provide additional protection.

The support member defines a space capable of receiving the shaft of the golf club therein. Two pairs of spaced hinge members are inwardly protruded from the inner surfaces of the lower ends of the first shaft protectors, respectively. Each of a pair of hinge mounting members is fixed to opposite outer surfaces there.

The jaws are pivotally connected proximate the handles and a manually releasable spring cooperates with the pivotal connector to urge the bottom edges of the opposing jaws toward each other in a normally closed position of the cover about the club head. The jaws are lined inside the cavity with a soft, resilient material adapted to firmly grip and cushion the head against potential impact damage. The cover is suitable for many different club head shapes. Also, the jaws have linear bottom edges which adapt the cover to T style, L style and intermediate shaft-to-head connection point putters.

A strap affixed adjacent the point of connection of the sheath to facilitate further restriction of the diameter of the sheath and retention of the present cover during practice swinging thereof.

The stretch fabric is made to stretch in a circumferential direction of the cover. The open lower end of the cover has dimensions which are smaller than the dimensions of a golf club head with which the cover is to be used; so that the cover stretches as the head is inserted. To facilitate placement of the cover over a golf club head, the lower open end of the cover has a pair of diametrically opposed lips extending from it. The lips are joined together at notches on diametrically opposite sides of the lips to facilitate use of the lips in placing the cover over a golf club head. The cover stretches to conform to the shape of the head, thereby protecting the head when it is inserted into the cover.

An elastic covering member is integrated with the edge of the main shaping member, thus forming a head protection sock with an expansible space. The covering member is expansible to receive the club head within the space regardless of the size of the club head. An elongated guide sleeve extends from the elastic covering member to a length, thus having an elongated part ended at a mouth and used for guiding the club head into the head protection sock. The above guide sleeve is designed to be closely creased at the elongated part closer to the mouth and at the inside edge portion thereof closer to the elastic covering member with a junction between the elongated part and the inside edge portion being sparsely creased.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a device which attaches to the upper exterior of a golfbag 14 and is used to secure golf club covers 18 and the golf clubs 16 therein in the vicinity of the top of the golfbag so that the user 12 can have ready access. The present invention 10 discloses a device which has multiple spring-loaded tensioning lines 22 which lines are connected by connectors 28 to the top of the individual golf club covers 18. The lines 22 are lockably extendible and retractable having clip-like fasteners 26 which can be attached to the top of the golf club covers 18 so as to secure the golf club cover 18 in close proximity to the top of the golfbag 14. The housing 11 of the device is attached to the golfbag 14 by a belt 24. An alternative embodiment is disclosed wherein the housing of the present invention is molded into the golfbag 14.

Abstract: An integrally molded head sheath for golf club made of soft and elastic material comprises a head-collaring portion in shape of a club head and a sleeve-collaring portion in shape of a long pipe with a downward opening. An elastomer is disposed near the opening end of the sleeve-collaring portion, and an insertion space is formed therein and having an inner diameter coincident with a neck sleeve of a club head. A relatively smaller entrance and two outward expanded guide strips are provided at the sleeve-collaring portion. The two guide strips of the elastomer are extended from the bottom end of the sleeve-collaring portion to a location near the lower end of the head-collaring portion to form an outward collaring mouth. A plurality of protrusion dots are disposed at the inner edge of the head-collaring portion to enable the sheath to collar onto the club head easily for protection.

Abstract: A protective cover for a golf club has an elongated shaft protector enclosing the shaft of the club. An opening is formed along the length of the shaft protector for passing the club shaft therethrough for storage or use. This opening is closed by a hinged door. The door, either single or double, preferably pivots on a living hinge or the like formed in the material of the cover, to urge the door to its closed position but permit it to pivot inwardly and outwardly of the cover when the shaft of the club is passed inwardly or outwardly. The dimensions of the interior, the shaft, and the door are such that the door swings past the shaft to close the opening when the shaft is fully inserted. In other forms, the protective cover also includes a head cover. In one alternative form, the head cover includes a door or pair of doors for passing the head of the club in the same manner as the shaft is passed into and from the shaft protector.

The upper and lower openings of the sleeve member are appropriately sized to allow golf club heads of any size to be cleaned within the sleeve upper interior portion while golf balls may be cleaned within the sleeve lower interior portion. Additionally, the appropriately sized lower opening permits golf balls to be retained within the lower interior portion of the sleeve member and squeezed out as needed. The device accomplishes all of the cleaning of the golf equipment internally and therefore prevents any cleaned off material from contacting the user or the user's clothing.

Abstract: A golf club divider assembly for use with a golf bag creates a desired plurality of subdivided and axially extending compartments for receiving a plurality of golf clubs. A plurality of elongated divider members are inserted axially within the golf bag and each divider member includes a plurality of either three or four outwardly and axially extending vane portions. A like plurality of sleeve members may be slidably engaged over the divider members to facilitate the creation of the individual club carrying compartments. Axially repositionable golf club head covering assemblies are provided and are secured to upper ends of the divider members in association with each of the club carrying compartments. The covering assemblies are repositionable in a vertical manner to cover an upwardly projecting club head of a golf club and to isolate and protect the golf club from the remaining golf clubs.

The flap is designed such that it will not be an obstacle when clubs are inserted into or taken out of the bag when it is not raining. The golf bag has a cylindrical body having a top opening covered by a flap. The flap is inclined relative to the axis of the cylindrical body. The interior of the body is partitioned into three spaces by two sheets. Each of putters and irons are placed in one of the spaces of the smallest and medium depths whose depth is nearer to the length of each of the putters and irons so that the putters and irons will not bounce in the bag. The flap is formed with holes right over the third space. A resin pipe is fitted in each hole through which the shaft of a wood can pass. A wood head cover is secured to the protruding end of each resin pipe.

The golf club head cover section comprises a stretchable enclosure that is enclosed about one end and about a surrounding side wall. An opening is formed in the head cover section opposite the closed end. Secured to the opening of the head cover section is the towel section. The towel section includes a free end that forms a lower opening and also the towel section includes a pair of opposed side edges that are left substantially unattached so as to form an elongated slit down the side of the towel section.

The other end of the line element has another tab section that extends from an adjacent outer most protruding member nearby this other end of the line element which facilitates pulling the adjacent outer most protruding member through this other hole in the other cover.

Abstract: A golf club head cover for use with golf clubs having graphite shafts has a generally hollow, cylindrically shaped head cover for the head of a golf club. The head cover has a closed upper end and an open lower end. The head cover is made of a first member of a semi-cylindrical shape; and this member has an elongated shaft protector secured to it externally from the closed upper end and extending beyond the open lower end of the first member. The portion of the shaft protector which extends beyond the open bottom of the first member has closure elements on it for closing the shaft protector around a shaft of a golf club.

The cover section includes an internal cavity having a rough texture surface with an enlarged open mouth through which the head passes upon placing the cover section over the head and a protector section which covers, at least partially, the hosel member of the shaft when the head is received within the cavity. A clip near the open mouth has legs which extend through openings formed in the cover and expand with the shaft of the iron golf club being pushed into the cavity and retracts to hold the shaft when the head is received within the cavity.

Abstract: A device to secure golf club head covers to a golf bag includes a base ring member, a clip fitted to the base ring, and being structured for removable attachment to the golf bag, one or more elastomeric cords having a proximal end secured to the base ring with a swivel fitting and a distal end zone including a hook element fitted thereto with a swivel fitting for removable attachment of the cord to a respective one of the head covers, wherein the head covers, when removed from corresponding golf clubs, remain interconnected to the device and the golf bag so that they do not become separated therefrom and possibly misplaced or lost. One or more alligator clips or like fittings may be provided on the base ring for hanging a hat, glove, or other article therefrom.

Abstract: A golf club shaft protector is disclosed as including an elongated hollow plastic tube having a polygonal cross-sectional configuration with an unequal number of sides interconnected to each other by corner sections. Each of the unequal number of sides have the same predetermined length and each of the corner sections have the same predetermined angular shape. One of each of the corner sections faces one of each of the sides. Preferably, the unequal number of sides is at least seven to provide the largest possible opening with the greatest amount of rigidity for receiving the golf club shaft, including a golf club handle. The golf club shaft protector also includes a tubular element mounted adjacent the open upper end of the hollow plastic tube and includes an outer wall section, an inner wall section and flexible lip sections.

The cover is made up of first and second flexible planar sheets, each of elongated and preferably generally rectangular configuration. The first sheet has a top and a bottom portion while the second sheet also has a top and a bottom portion but the top portion extends beyond the top portion of the first sheet. The second sheet is further provided with an overlapping pair of flaps at an upper area of the second sheet extending downwards over the top portion of the first sheet. The first and second sheets are fastened substantially continuously along a side edge of each of said sheets.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an accessory for golf clubs, and more particularly to a device for protecting golf club shafts composed of materials such as graphite. It is designed primarily to protect the section of the golf club shaft which is nearest to the head of a golf club, which is especially prone to marring and abrasion during transport, storage and use. Primarily, it consists of an outer surface and an inner surface which, combined, form a protective component, with a fastening component attached thereto for securing the golf club shaft protector in place.

Abstract: A golf club cover is comprised of a flexible cover member having a substantially cylindrical deformable body open at one end for receiving the head portion of a golf club and an essentially tubular member depending from the flexible cover member for receiving the shaft portion of the club. The tubular member is open at both ends and has a slot extending between the open ends. The shaft portion of the club is insertable into the tubular member by penetrating movement of the shaft portion through the slot in a direction generally transverse to a longitudinal axis of the shaft portion. The tubular member has flared first and second edge portions on respective opposite sides of the slot for urging the shaft portion through the slot. The tubular member has a predetermined resiliency such that first and second edge portions are laterally spreadable by the penetrating movement of the shaft portion through the slot.

Abstract: A protective device for golf clubs includes a pair of relatively non-extensible straps that are attached at one end to a cap and at the other end to the open end of a golf club head cover. When the head cover is placed on the golf club, the cap can be placed on the grip end of the club so as to apply a slight tension to the head cover by way of the straps. The device can be provided to consumers for attachment to existing head covers, or it can be provided to consumers as an assembled head cover-straps-cap unit. The golf club headcover includes a golf club headcover section for substantially surrounding the golf club head. A flexible and resilient restricted throat is formed in the golf club headcover section which has an internal dimension smaller than the golf club head such that upon insertion of the golf club head, the flexible and resilient restricted throat deforms and expands to allow passage of the golf club head into the golf club headcover section and subsequent return to its initial configuration. Locking elements are formed in the golf club headcover section independent of the flexible and resilient restricted throat for underlying the golf club head while releasably holding the golf club headcover section on the golf club head.

Abstract: A golf club head weighted cover assembly includes a cover, formed of flexible material, that defines both a volume sized for receiving a golf club wood or metal wood head and an opening sized for introducing the golf club head into the volume. The cross-sectional area of the opening about the golf club handle is reduced to restrict the unwanted removal of the golf club head from the cover, and a weight element releasably attaches to the bottom, outer surface of the cover.

Abstract: A hand-held rain towel suitable for cleaning and drying golf clubs and other implements in wet weather. A towel folded in an elongate configuration and provided with a pliable rainproof cover defines a pocket open on one side and at the bottom, which receives an object such as a golf-club handle, wipes water droplets off the object, and then absorbs residual moisture from the handle in the folds of the towel.

Abstract: A combined wiper and head cover for a golf club, including a club head scrubber, and the method of applying the cover to the club and in particular to a putter. A preferred embodiment of the cover includes a towel section and a head-engaging section secured to the towel section for engaging the heel of the club head, a fastener for releasably securing the head-engaging section to the club such that the towel section drapes from the toe of the club head and is substantially confined to one side of the club shaft when the club's head is positioned above its shaft, and a pliant scrubber patch secured to the cover.

Abstract: A one-piece molded flexible plastic material golf club headcover for use with a golf club, including a golf club head and shank, is disclosed. The golf club headcover includes a golf club headcover section for substantially surrounding the golf club head. A flexible and resilient restricted throat is formed in the golf club headcover section which has an internal dimension smaller than the golf club head such that upon insertion of the golf club head, the flexible and resilient restricted throat deforms and expands to allow passage of the golf club head into the golf club headcover section and subsequent return to its initial configuration. Locking elements are formed in the golf club headcover section independent of the flexible and resilient restricted throat for underlying the golf club head while releasably holding the golf club headcover section on the golf club head.

Abstract: A golf club cover or set of golf club covers for iron golf clubs formed of an elastic, rubber material such as neoprene is disclosed. A set of covers where each of the covers is of the same size and such that a snug fit with any of the irons of a set of golf clubs is ensured is also disclosed.
