Patent number: 4673015Abstract: A chain net comprises a plurality of warp strands (1.1) with mutually equal links (1.2) which at intersections lock round links (1.5) of weft strands (1.4) having mutually equal links. The links of the warp strands have dimensions such that they first allow the insertion of weft strands and, after plastic or elastic deformation, lock links of the weft strands. The plastic deformation is provided by elongating the warp strands. The elastic deformation is provided by the warp strand links being first expanded to allow the insertion of weft strands, after which the warp links are elastically re-deformed for locking round weft links.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1984Date of Patent: June 16, 1987Inventor: Olof I. Patent number: 4225082Abstract: A vehicle traction device for passenger cars and alike including a flexible belt-like traction mat with transverse corrugations on one side and substantially smooth on the other side. One end of the mat is pivotally secured to anchoring means including a flexible anchoring pad and ground gripping element. In use, the traction mat is first arranged to form a loop relative to the anchoring means. With its corrugations facing a tire and its smooth side facing the ground the traction mat will easily be drawn under a spinning wheel until that end of it, which is secured to the anchoring means becomes choked by the anchoring means. The tractive effort then developed causes the anchoring means to become wedged and thus assuring its fixed position, whereby the traction mat is prevented from being propelled away by the driven wheel.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1979Date of Patent: September 30, 1980Inventor: Thorvald G. Patent number: 3934633Abstract: An annular meshwork to cover the tread and part of the sidewalls of a tire includes a plurality of flexible, nonstretchable strands extending around the tire, each strand being connected to adjacent strands at spaced apart points to form an annular meshwork or network to improve traction and steering. The sides of the meshwork are defined by end rings, at least one of which is extensible, e.g., elastic, to allow mounting on the tire. The strands adjacent the end rings are fixedly attached to the end rings. The meshes are formed by the strands with a significantly longer dimension in the circular direction of the annular meshwork than in the transverse direction. The connections can be made using clamping devices of which specific embodiments are disclosed. The clamping devices can be provided with a protective layer on the tread-facing (inner) side. The outer side can be provided with projections in the nature of short spikes to enhance traction.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1975Date of Patent: January 27, 1976Inventor: Karl Bula
