    Abstract: A vehicle wheel includes a rim, an inflatable tire, a grounding tire, and a safety unit. The rim includes two tire engagement portions spaced from each other in a longitudinal direction. The inflatable tire is mounted around the rim and includes an inner annular bottom wall and two inner annular sidewalls respectively on left and right sides of the inner annular bottom wall. Each inner annular sidewall includes an inner side having a lip pressing against one of the tire engagement portions of the rim. The grounding tire is mounted around the inflatable tire and includes an outer annular bottom wall capable of rolling contact with the ground. The safety unit is sandwiched between the inflatable tire and the grounding tire to couple the inflatable tire and the grounding tire together, permitting synchronously rotation of the inflatable tire and the grounding tire while increasing the anti-slipping effect.

    Abstract: The emergency tire support device for a low air pressure tire includes an elongate belt formed by three layers of material that protects and supports a deflated tire. The belt wraps around the tire and is secured thereto by fasteners. The three layers include an outer layer of cloth, an inner layer of plastic, and an intermediate layer of cloth. A plurality of tacks extends through the inner layer, and the intermediate layer sandwiches the head of the tacks between the inner and intermediate layers. The tacks pierce the tread area of the tire as the tire rolls over the belt during installation, causing the belt to automatically wrap around the tire. The tacks also prevent slip. The inner and intermediate layers are stitched onto the first layer to form a plurality of longitudinal pockets. The pockets are filled with scrap rubber.

    Abstract: The modular tire chain apparatus provides for ease of installation due to connecting modules that allow a user to assemble the apparatus on a tire and wheel with greater ease than having to struggle with a continuous tire chain. A further advantage of the modules is that any number of modules needed to surround a tire and wheel are easily attached together, thereby providing a substantially universal fit to a plethora of tire sizes. And, the tie strap with spring with hook aids in securing the modules to a tire. Further the ties are secured, one to the other and to the outer members. The ratchet lock further ensures snug fit of the apparatus. The inner cable, outer cable, inner members, outer members, and cross members are available in rubber coated finish, thereby avoiding potential vehicle and wheel and tire damage.

The linking member, the connecting portions and the anti-skid tread portion are formed integrally with one another. The linking member is formed expandable and compressible, and the connecting portion is formed deformable in the tire peripheral direction.

    Abstract: An improved passenger car tire chain employing heat treated medium carbon steel is disclosed. The improved tire chain is approximately twice as durable as that presently furnished to meet NACM-5179(TC) for Type PL chains when AISI 1026 or 1029 carbon steel is employed at least for links of a cross chain meeting the road surface. The cross chain links are closed by welding prepared abutting link ends which have been previously beveled. After being welded closed, the cross chain links are case hardened, quenched, tempered and air cooled. The improved tire chain is then assembled in a conventional manner to include a pair of side members, fastening means to secure a end of each side member to the other end, and a plurality of cross chains extending between the sidewall members at preselected intervals.

The winch is simple and inexpensive and the sprocket tolerant of chain dimensions so that it can be used with uncalibrated chain. This winch, amongst other things, has application for permanent fitting to a tire chain for tensioning it on to a tire.
