Circumferential Patents (Class 152/285)
  • Patent number: 11516960
Abstract: A gauge wheel (1) for use in controlling the depth of a furrow formed by at least one planting member of cultivation equipment includes a hub member (5) having a central hub and an outer peripheral portion (9); and a resilient coil member (3). The resilient coil member (3) includes a plurality of coil windings (17) which extend closely adjacent to the outer peripheral portion (9) of the hub member (5) and which define an outer periphery of the gauge wheel (1). The coil member (3) is connected at or adjacent one end thereof to the hub member (5). In use, the resilient coil member engages the soil on a side of the furrow and controls the depth by which the at least one planting member cuts into the soil to form the furrow. There is also provided a coulter gauge wheel which includes a coulter disc and at least one gauge wheel as described above.

  • Patent number: 6516848
Abstract: The toroidal wheel is a self-supporting framework of connected torsion elements, which is not supported by any spokes, hub, or wheel disk. The toroidal wheel rotates in direct contact with the underlying surface on and against which it is operated, and may be operated in a mount/drive. The object of the toroidal wheel is to provide conventional wheel function and ancillary uses, such as gears and other rotating devices, plus additional uses precluded or made impractical by the central hub of the conventional wheel.

  • Patent number: 6451142
Abstract: Optics used in a high vacuum environment are mounted by bonding by use of addition polymerizing material which used in that environment. The suitability for use in the high vacuum environment is achieved by precise control of outgassing of trapped and dissolved gases, including low molecular weight hydrocarbons and amines, and unreacted material from component parts of said addition polymerizing material. A plurality of application quantities of the polymer are prepared in a large batch for use as pre-mixed frozen (PMF) material. The use of the large batch enables more precise control of mixture so that near-stoichiometric proportions of the polymer components are easily achieved.

  • Patent number: 6250355
Abstract: A wheel and tire structure formed by an array of a plurality of connected toroidal support components, which are self-supporting toroidal frameworks of connected torsion elements. The resulting wheel and tire structure may be used as an insert in a tire, incorporated directly in the structure of a tire body, or connected to a central hub structure to form a complete wheel. The open interior of the toroidal tube of the wheel and tire structure also permits inclusion of other types of toroidal structures within the toroidal tube which can assist its function.

  • Patent number: 6032710
Abstract: An elastic element useful for constructing shock-absorbing devices, is elongated and continuously curved into an endless double-loop formation including an outer loop merging with an inner loop located within and offset from the plane of the outer loop. Also described are a number of applications for such elastic elements, including a non-pneumatic vehicle tire having an outer elastomeric body, and a plurality of said elastic elements within the outer elastomeric body for cushioning the shock applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 5800643
Abstract: Helical spring loop structures (inner tires) reduce vehicle accidents when tire failure occurs, reduce tire heat build-up and tread wear simultaneously. The structure, having an ability to cope with a vehicle's failed tire while in motion, provides a safer driving environment. The structures preferably are made of steel oil tempered wire, ASTM A-229 or equal, covered with rubber tubing and assembled to form a loop which can be inflated. The wire provides structural stability and the rubber tubing provides cushioning, especially when inflated.
