Abstract: Provided is an insert for a tire, capable of being fastened together with a rim and a tire, the insert including a flow path connecting an upper surface and a lower surface of the insert.
Abstract: A vehicle inner tube, which includes an inflatable tube formed of a plurality of air balls, the inflatable tube having an air chamber defined on the inside, two sets of curved grooves spirally arranged at two opposite side walls thereof around an air chamber, and a plurality of insertion slots spirally arranged around the curved grooves through the two opposite side walls, and a plurality of breaker members and side bumper members respectively mounted in the insertion slots and curved grooves at the inflatable tube, the breaker members and side bumper members each including a flexible base pad formed of a big number of air balls, and a breaker adhered to the base pad at one side.
Abstract: A run-flat tire system comprising a tire and an tire core disposed therein, the tire core being an annular body of an elastic closed-cell material, the radially outside and inside of the tire core each provided with a circumferentially extending groove, the radially inner groove extending radially outwardly beyond a bead core line being drawn between the centers of the bead cores. When the tire is mounted on a standard rim, the radially outer groove forms a radially outer space extending circumferentially of the tire and having a cross sectional area of from 1 to 6% of the total sectional area of the tire cavity, and the radially inner groove forms a radially inner space extending circumferentially of the tire having a cross sectional area Si of from 10 to 25% of the total sectional area S of the tire cavity.
Abstract: A simple tubeless tire patcher, especially a tool comprising a T-handle and an awl with a notch to press a stick of patch into a hole in the tire to be a good patch, characterized by having two parallel flat surfaces on two opposite sides of the awl for accommodating a stick of colloid nylon patch so that it can be brought into the hole in the tire by the awl after it is turned by the hand with the flat surfaces and the top of the base proping aside the ends of the stick patch it will be left in hole after the awl is pulled out and become a good patch.
Abstract: A non-pneumatic insert tube for a tire adapted to be mounted upon a circular rim. The insert tube is an elongated resilient plastic cylinder having a thin wall defining a continuous bore which extends throughout the entire tube length. A sequence of spaced partial cuts extends through the thin wall of the tube with the sequence of partial cuts being symmetrically centered about the outer periphery of the tube when formed into a single coil hoop for insertion into a tire and with an uncut portion of the tube being symmetrically centered about the inner periphery of the tube which is to be seated adjacent the rim. In certain species a reinforcing web, having a single web or a web of two or more intersecting cross legs, is disposed within and extends across the bore of the tube from sidewall to sidewall and is integrally joined to the opposite sidewalls. The single web and all cross legs are usually placed in tension in response to vertically applied loads.
Abstract: A method and article of manufacture is herein disclosed for eliminating the need for pressurized air in a vehicular pneumatic tire. A resilient tubular insert is inserted and carried within a tire casing to simulate pneumatic conditions. The resilient material possesses a longitudinal bore which in combination with a particular range of durometers, enhances the "pneumatic" characteristics of the tire insert. Preferably, the tire insert is discontinuous and is designed to have a diameter greater than the internal diameter of the tire casing under deflated conditions.
