Patent number: 9579839Abstract: A method and apparatus for extrusion of an article is provided. A die assembly can apply flows of thermoplastic material to an array of reinforcing cables to form a composite extrusion. A slider fabric can be bonded to one side of the composite extrusion. After exiting the die assembly, the slider fabric can act to support the extrudate as it passes along an elongate mandrel, which can cause the base of the slider fabric to change shape from a flat profile to the final internal profile of the article. The extruded article can then be cooled to solidify the material. The die can include cooling for the slider fabric and means for promoting penetration of the thermoplastic into reinforcing cables.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2012Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: EHC CANADA, INC.Inventors: Andrew Oliver Kenny, Douglas James Weatherall, Viqar Haider, Ronald Harold Ball, Alexander Stuart Caunce

Patent number: 6669312Abstract: A wheel assembly comprises a tire supported by an underlying wheel. The tire has inner and outer surfaces, first and second side surfaces, and first and second recesses. Cables are in the tire proximate the inner surface. The wheel has inner and outer flanges, and an outer surface. The outer surface of the wheel receives the inner surface of the tire. The outer surface of the outer flange has lesser and greater diameter portions extending from respective sides. The lesser diameter portion covers at least 60 percent of the width of the outer surface. The greater diameter portion, defines a side flange, integral with the outer flange. A second side flange is removably mounted to the outer flange. The side flanges comprise side-facing abutment surfaces which interface with side-facing surfaces on the tire. The difference between the lesser and greater diameters is greater than radial stretch capability of the tire.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2001Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Eric Brian Smith, Craig Edward Rehmert

Patent number: 6482140Abstract: A roller is structured so that one or a plurality of grooves are recessed on an outer peripheral surface of an outer race in a bearing, a part of a synthetic resin tire integrally adhered to the outer race of the bearing is inserted and welded within a groove on the outer peripheral surface of the outer race in the bearing, whereby a firmer adhesion force can be obtained. Accordingly, a more firmly adhered fitting body is prevented from being peeled off from the outer race of the bearing and the tire and the outer race of the bearing are prevented from separately racing even when the bearing is exposed to a heavy load and rotates at a high speed, that is, the roller is adhered so as to prevent the tire and the bearing from rotating relative to each other.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2000Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Assignee: Tashico CorporationInventor: Shigeru Takatsu

Patent number: 6467519Abstract: A wheel system for securely mounting a tire thereon. The assembly includes a wheel having a rim with radially outward extending slots. A tire with radially inward extending protuberances mates with the radially extending members for securely mounting the tire to the wheel. The mating of protuberances with the members limits radial deflection and rotational movement of the tire about the rim. Axial movement of the tire relative to the rim is limited by the inner surface of the sidewall of the tire abutting the ends of the radially extending slots. In one embodiment, the wheel is composed of material having elastic properties for absorbing shock.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2000Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Assignee: Unlimited Plastic Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Robb Owen
