Physical Structure Of Reinforcing Cords Patents (Class 152/527)
  • Patent number: 4606392
Abstract: A reinforcing cord for use in radial tires, conveyor belts, hoses or driving belts, includes at least one strand of metal wires twisted along the longitudinal axis of the strand. Each metal wire has a substantially rectangular cross-section defining two opposite broad sides. The wires in the strand engage one another along their broad sides and preferably are wrapped around by a wrapping wire.

  • Patent number: 4602666
Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire for passenger vehicles, having a belt reinforcement layer consisting of a steel cord layer and a layer of aromatic polyamide fiber cords having its side ends bent over toward each other, wherein the layer of aromatic polyamide fiber cords is formed by embedding in covering rubber of a 100% modulus of 30 to 70 kg/cm.sup.2, 40 to 70 parallel aromatic polyamide fiber cords of 0.55 to 0.65 mm in diameter per 5 cm distance in the direction at right angle to the lengthwise direction of these cords.

  • Patent number: 4589461
Abstract: A pneumatic belted tire for use in motorcycles is disclosed, which comprises a toroidal carcass, a tread superimposed about a crown region of the carcass at a width corresponding to the maximum width of the carcass and provided on its surface with a tread pattern, and a belt arranged on the crown region over the width of the tread and composed of plural rubberized layers each containing inextensible cords inclined at an angle of not less than 30.degree. with respect to the equatorial plane. In this type of the tire, the inclination angle of cords in the belt gradually enlarges within a range of 7.degree.-20.degree. from the center of the crown region toward the tread side edge, and the tread is provided on each side edge portion with a substantially continuous rib having a width corresponding to 5-25% of the tread width.

  • Patent number: 4526217
Abstract: A heavy duty pneumatic radial tire is disclosed, which comprises a carcass composed of at least one rubberized ply containing cords arranged substantially in a radial plane of the tire and a belt superimposed about a crown portion of the carcass just beneath a tread and composed of at least three rubberized belt plies. In this tire, metal cords of a first belt ply nearest to the carcass among the above belt plies are arranged at an angle of 25.degree.-50.degree. without crossing with metal cords of a second belt ply near the carcass next to the first belt ply with respect to a central circumferential line of the tire, and metal cords of the second belt ply and a third belt ply near the carcass next to the second belt ply, a tensile strength of each of which being 1.5-2 times that of the metal cord of the first belt ply, are arranged at an angle of 10.degree.-30.degree.
