Pneumatic Spring Patents (Class 152/53)
  • Patent number: 8418311
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner having a vacuum cleaner body, a suction fan and motor operatively associated with the vacuum cleaner body, and a wheel. The wheel has a wheel body having an axis of rotation, a tread surface, and a cushion layer radially interposed between the wheel body and the tread surface. The cushion layer includes a resilient shell having a plurality of resilient cells therein. The shell and the plurality of cells have one or more gasses in them, and are dimensioned to damp vibrations and impacts between the tread surface and a floor surface that the tread surface contacts as the wheel rotates about the axis of rotation.

Abstract: Provided is a non-pneumatic tire in which buckling can be prevented without a weigh increase of the tire, the non-pneumatic tire including a spoke structure. The non-pneumatic tire is characterized in that, in the non-pneumatic tire where a spoke structure obtained by circumferentially arranging spokes intermittently at intervals, which radially couple together annular cylindrical outer member and cylindrical inner member, is joined to an inner peripheral side of a tread ring, at least some of a plurality of spaces each formed between two spokes adjacent to each other in the tire circumferential direction each have an air-containing structure.

  • Patent number: 7401630
Abstract: A wheel for a wheelchair according to the present invention includes: an outer wheel or ring mounted on the inner periphery of a tire; an inner ring connected with a wheelchair frame (concentric with the outer ring and positioned inside the outer ring); a plurality of rolling elements interposed between the outer ring and the inner ring, arranged with an interval between each other in a circumferential direction; and a plurality of spacers (retainers or interval-holding members) for holding intervals between the rolling elements. Each spacer is in a shape extending along a circumferential direction of the outer ring and the inner ring, and is provided between the rolling elements respectively. The wheel does not have a hub and spokes, and the inner peripheral side does not rotate, and further the wheel weight is light. The wheelchair of the present invention includes the wheel for a wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 7172200
Abstract: A sealing arrangement on piston rods with a rod guided in a cylindrical compressed-gas space, particularly on piston rods of high-pressure pneumatic springs or gas-filled shock absorbers, with at least one seal disposed on the piston rod for sealing the compressed-gas space toward the outside, with a guide for the piston rod and with a lubricant space. The lubricant space is provided with an insert that is capable of absorbing the lubricant in sponge-like fashion.

  • Patent number: 4909576
Abstract: Antiskid device for the advance on snow or ice of the driving wheels of motor vehicles. The device is wheel-shaped and has a central hub portion intended to be applied and fixed to the outside of a driving wheel of a motor vehicle, a peripheral deformable crown with a spiked or jagged contour for gripping the roadbed and a plurality of spring-loaded and fluid-operated telescopic spokes to allow the crown to yieldingly deflect, so as to lose its normal circular shape at the portion of the crown gripping the roadbed and to resume and keep its normal circular shape in all its remaining portions. The amount of the extension/retraction of the spokes can be controlled remotely from inside the vehicle to which the device is applied.
