With Pneumatic Spring Patents (Class 152/8)
  • Publication number: 20150136286
Abstract: A tire according to an embodiment of the present invention specifically has the annular inner ring band and the annular outer ring band separated from and concentric with the inner ring band, on the outer peripheral side of the wheel, and includes an air bag between the inner ring band and the outer ring band, the air bag including the air intake/discharge mechanism that communicates with the outside. A support body for coupling the inner ring band and the outer ring band is included. A plurality of the air bags is present in a peripheral direction of the tire. Furthermore, the outer ring band, is formed of a rubber composition for a tire. An air discharge hole of the air bag communicates with an outer most layer of the outer ring band. With this configuration, the tire that has advantages of both of a non-pneumatic tire and a pneumatic tire is realized.

  • Publication number: 20130284328
Abstract: A wheel assembly is disclosed, the wheel assembly including a rigid wheel and an airless tire mounted on the wheel. A portion of the tire is separated radially from the wheel by a space and is configured to flex inwardly toward the wheel when subject to ground engaging pressure. A spacer is interposed between the wheel and the portion of the tire separated radially from the wheel by a space and is configured to limit the inward flexing of the tire. The spacer may be permanently affixed to the wheel assembly or may be removably attached to the wheel assembly. The spacer may be adjustable between a first size and a second size.

  • Patent number: 8418311
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner having a vacuum cleaner body, a suction fan and motor operatively associated with the vacuum cleaner body, and a wheel. The wheel has a wheel body having an axis of rotation, a tread surface, and a cushion layer radially interposed between the wheel body and the tread surface. The cushion layer includes a resilient shell having a plurality of resilient cells therein. The shell and the plurality of cells have one or more gasses in them, and are dimensioned to damp vibrations and impacts between the tread surface and a floor surface that the tread surface contacts as the wheel rotates about the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4793395
Abstract: A tire shock absorber for attachment to a pneumatic tube tire or pneumatic tubeless tire for improving the smoothness of ride and decreasing road vibrations, the tire shock absorber comprising a chamber having at least one valve means which permits the unrestricted flow of air from the tubeless tire or tube tire into the chamber when the tire is subjected to intermittent road pressure, the valve means permitting the return of the displaced air to the tubeless tire or tube tire subsequent to the tire being subjected to the intermittent pressure. The tire shock absorber is designed for positioning either exterior to the tire or interior to the tire depending upon whether or not it is a tube tire or a tubeless tire.
