  • Patent number: 10293547
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3-D) printer includes build and support material development stations positioned to transfer layers of build and support materials to an intermediate transfer surface. The intermediate transfer surface transfers a layer of the build and support materials to a platen each time the platen contacts the intermediate transfer surface. A sensor detects the thickness of the layer on the platen, and a mechanical planer is positioned to contact and level the layer on the platen as the platen moves past the mechanical planer. Additionally, a feedback loop is electrically connected to the sensor and the mechanical planer. The mechanical planer adjusts the amount of the build material and the support material removed from the layer based on the thickness of the layer on the platen, as determined by the sensor.

  • Patent number: 10052863
Abstract: A printing screen and a sealant printing method are provided. The printing screen includes a frame, a mesh/screen fixed on the frame, and a film formed on the mesh. The portion of the mesh that is not covered by the film forms a feeding port in a rectangular ring shape. The rectangular ring includes two opposite first sides and two opposite second sides. The width of an upper opening of the cross section across the first sides is less than or equal to that of an upper opening of the cross section across the second sides. At a first height, the area of the cross section across the first sides is greater than that of the cross section across the second sides, the first height being less than the thickness of the film. The printing screen and the sealant printing method solve the problem of poor height uniformity of sealants.

  • Patent number: 9712722
Abstract: A printing engine prints an electronic document in a first printing pass to produce a printed media sheet having first markings. Additionally, a processor determines the amount of the clear marking material to print on top of the previously printed media sheet (which already has those first markings). The processor determines different amounts of clear marking material to print on first and second areas of the printed media sheet, based on different darkness levels of first and second colors in the first and second areas of the sheet. After the first printing pass, the printing engine prints (on the previously printed media sheet which has the first markings) those different amounts of clear marking material on the first area and the second area in a second printing pass, and this produces a printed media sheet having gloss markings.

  • Patent number: 9696274
Abstract: A gas sensor element of an air/fuel ratio sensor has a structure in which at least a part of an end portion of a porous electrode is sandwiched between a porous member and a solid electrolyte member. Therefore, it is possible to restrain shrinkage of the porous electrode during manufacture of the gas sensor element, which shrinkage would otherwise occur at the time of heating in a debindering step or at the beginning of a firing step, whereby occurrence of green breakage in the solid electrolyte member is restrained. Thus, cracking due to green breakage is restrained from occurring in the solid electrolyte member produced through firing. Since the end portion of the porous electrode can receive oxygen through the porous member, blackening of the solid electrolyte member can be prevented.

Abstract: The present application provides systems, apparatus, and methods for providing high quality printed corrugated sheets and webs through the use of a variable sleeve offset press. In one embodiment a method is provided comprising the steps of: printing a paperboard web to provide ink to the linerboard web. The printing step may comprise using an offset printing press having variable repeat length. The method may further comprise rewinding the printed paperboard web onto a roll; providing the printed paperboard web to a high speed corrugation machine via the roll; laminating the printed paperboard web to a fluted web thereby producing a printed corrugated web. The method may further comprise applying heat to at least one of the printed paperboard web and the fluted web which causes heating of the ink on the paperboard web printed thereon by the offset printed press.

Abstract: Provided are a transparent conductive substrate production method for an electrostatic capacitance touch panel having a high pattern recognition property, by simple steps without using a vacuum process and a wet etching method, as well as a transparent conductive substrate and an electrostatic capacitance touch panel. An electrode drawing lead wiring pattern is formed on at least one main face of a transparent film using a conductive paste. An electrode pattern forming unit prints an electrode pattern with a transparent conductive pattern forming ink containing metal nanowires or metal nanoparticles so that the electrode pattern is connected to the electrode drawing lead wiring pattern, and dries the printed electrode pattern. The dried electrode pattern is subjected to pulsed light irradiation by a photoirradiation unit 18, to sinter the metal nanowires or the metal nanoparticles contained in the transparent conductive pattern forming ink.

  • Patent number: 9005386
Abstract: A sling label comprises a single layer label portion having an upper surface and a lower surface, a cut in the label portion forming a sling, and adhesive on the lower surface of the label portion. The adhesive is inactivated on the lower surface of the label corresponding to the position of the sling. Further, a method for making a sling label comprises placing a single layer label portion over a backing layer so that the label portion adheres to the backing layer by means of the adhesive, and inactivating a portion of the adhesive on the lower surface of the label portion. A diecut is made in the label portion where the adhesive on the lower surface of the label portion has been inactivated, and the label portion is re-fastened to the backing layer.

Abstract: A form for mailing a mailpiece using a special service has a sheet and a label removably attached to the sheet. The label has information related to the delivery of the article by the special service on the front side. The back side of the label attaches to the article. An electronic return receipt information section and a special services designation section including information indicative of the special service are located on the label. The mailpiece is prepared for delivery by the special service by printing information on the form necessary to comply with the special service delivery requirements. The information has data concerning electronic return receipt of the mailpiece and a machine-readable code section with machine-readable information associated with the mailpiece. The form is removed from the sheet and attached to the mailpiece.

Abstract: A method of making fabrics and coatings in a camouflage pattern with a printed camouflage pattern ink layer covered by a temperature activated color changing ink layer or layers printed in a camouflage pattern, which matches the pattern in the underlying printed camouflage fabric ink layer. The temperature activated color changing ink layer changes color state with a change of temperature to another color state or a clear state, which reveals the color state of the underlying printed camouflage fabric layer. The temperatures at which the temperature activated color changing ink changes color state occurs at a pre-determined temperature so that the camouflage pattern reveal the color states and the characteristics of the foliage of the season to which the temperature corresponds.

  • Patent number: 8974625
Abstract: A method for bonding supplemental materials of various shapes to a base textile comprises printing an adhesive material, such as a thermoplastic ink, onto a backing sheet, such as a paper backing. The thermoplastic ink may be printed onto the paper backing using a print head, silk screen, gravure, or any other appropriate printing device capable of printing the ink onto the backing sheet in a desired shape and with a desired thickness. The adhesive material is generally printed in substantially the same shape as the perimeter of the supplemental material to be bonded to the base textile. After the thermoplastic ink is printed onto the backing sheet, the thermoplastic ink is transferred to the base fabric using a bonding process. The backing sheet is then peeled away, and the supplemental material is then bonded to the exposed adhesive material on the base fabric using a subsequent bonding process.
