  • Patent number: 11266903
Abstract: The present invention provides an electronic playing card reading device, a system and method thereof for scanning and reading playing cards in a deck. The device recognizes sequence of every card in a deck by scanning a unique barcode which is inscribed on each playing card. The barcode represents characteristics of the playing cards, including value, suit, color, orientation, and the like. The device uses an IR camera to scan the barcodes of the playing cards; uses a processor to analyze and decode the encoded information in the barcodes and determine the characteristics of the playing cards. This further determines the sequence of the playing cards in the deck. Hence, the card reading device allows a performer a myriad of magic tricks. Also, the device communicates with a user device installed with a scanning application that executes instructions to control the device for scanning and perform various effects.

Abstract: A sheet-fed system designed to print multilayer PCBs is introduced. The system consists of four main blocks; a drilling station, a patterning station, a stacking/bonding station, and a sintering zone. The substrate PCB is shuttled between these various stations, to have vias drilled, to be attached to stacks of previously-processed layers, to be covered with conductive paths by means of the aforementioned ink, and to have the ink sintered under a controlled temperature and atmosphere. Patterning is accomplished by means of a novel two-step method involving both high-temperature conductive elements, low-temperature conductive elements, and flux. Two such compositions are successively applied and individually sintered to form a single conductive path; the second application serves to fill the porosities of the first layer. By this method, a highly-conductive trace is obtained without requiring high temperatures, which in turn allows use of common substrates including polymers.

  • Patent number: 9889698
Abstract: A laminate structure along with one or more security features is disclosed. The laminate structure may correspond to an identification document, such as an identification card, and may include a core layer with one or more security elements established thereon. As light is emitted into the core layer, the light impacts one or more of the security elements and is re-radiated back out of the core layer, thereby providing an indication that the laminate structure includes the security elements and is, therefore, authentic.

  • Patent number: 9821531
Abstract: A three dimensional retroreflective article having an outer surface with a reflectivity of at least about 200 lux, and method for making such an article from a thermoformable laminate is provided. The laminate includes a base layer of thermoformable plastic sheet material; and a layer of microbeads configured in a high-density arrangement and silvered on their bottom sides to enhance retroreflectivity. The microbeads are adhered to an outer surface of the base layer by a thermoformable cushion coat which may include a phosphorescent pigment to further enhance reflectivity. A protective sheet of transparent thermoformable sheet material overlies and may be in contact with the layer of microbeads. The laminate is heated and thermoformed into a self supporting three dimensional article having a pre-selected shape and an encapsulated bead retroreflective surface having a reflectivity of at least about 200 lux.

  • Patent number: 9712722
Abstract: A printing engine prints an electronic document in a first printing pass to produce a printed media sheet having first markings. Additionally, a processor determines the amount of the clear marking material to print on top of the previously printed media sheet (which already has those first markings). The processor determines different amounts of clear marking material to print on first and second areas of the printed media sheet, based on different darkness levels of first and second colors in the first and second areas of the sheet. After the first printing pass, the printing engine prints (on the previously printed media sheet which has the first markings) those different amounts of clear marking material on the first area and the second area in a second printing pass, and this produces a printed media sheet having gloss markings.

  • Patent number: 9707795
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an extended content label involves receiving label stock comprising a liner layer and a face stock layer, and de-laminating the liner layer from the face stock layer. The face stock layer and the liner layer each have a top surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface of the face stock layer has an adhesive layer that adheres the face stock layer to the liner layer. A first face stock image is printed onto the top surface of the liner layer. The printed face stock image is transferred to the bottom surface of the face stock layer, and a second face stock image is printed onto the top surface of the face stock layer. The transferring the printed face stock image involves re-laminating the face stock layer with the liner layer.

  • Patent number: 9696274
Abstract: A gas sensor element of an air/fuel ratio sensor has a structure in which at least a part of an end portion of a porous electrode is sandwiched between a porous member and a solid electrolyte member. Therefore, it is possible to restrain shrinkage of the porous electrode during manufacture of the gas sensor element, which shrinkage would otherwise occur at the time of heating in a debindering step or at the beginning of a firing step, whereby occurrence of green breakage in the solid electrolyte member is restrained. Thus, cracking due to green breakage is restrained from occurring in the solid electrolyte member produced through firing. Since the end portion of the porous electrode can receive oxygen through the porous member, blackening of the solid electrolyte member can be prevented.
