Abstract: A composite that contains an elastic film laminated to a meltblown facing is provided. During lamination, apertures and discrete bond sites may be concurrently formed in the elastic film. The discrete bond sites may be located proximate (adjacent or near to) a perimeter defined by corresponding apertures formed by displacement of the film. The location of the bond sites adjacent to or near the apertures may enhance the durability of the meltblown facing by strengthening the area surrounding the apertures. Furthermore, the content of the elastic film and the temperature/pressure of lamination may be selected to that the film possesses a sufficient tack for adhering to the facing at regions other than those fused together by the bonding elements of the patterned roll. Such secondary bonding further stabilizes the meltblown facing and renders it suitable for printing. Further, the film is under tension in the machine direction during lamination.

Abstract: In a corrugating machine and a method of producing corrugated cardboard, provision is made for a marking device by means of which a color mark is applied by rubbing off a solid coloring agent, the color mark being detected by means of a detection device in order to easily and precisely mark and cut out joining points. The applied and detected color mark enables a web length of a web of single-faced corrugated cardboard in a storage device to be determined, thus allowing an electronic control device to operate a cross-cutting device in an easy and precise manner.

  • Patent number: 8241456
Abstract: A method for producing an electric-wave-transmissible transferring member capable of expressing a metallic luster pattern having a sharp outline. A peel layer (3) is formed on a base sheet (2) throughout the entire surface of the sheet. Next, a water-soluble pattern layer (4) is partially formed thereon. Next, an electric-wave-transmissible metallic luster layer (5) is formed thereon and throughout the entire surface thereof. Next, a protective layer (6) is formed thereon and throughout the entire surface thereof, or is formed thereon and, partially, in the region where the water-soluble pattern layer (4) is not formed. Next, the workpiece is subjected to a heating treatment and then a water-washing treatment to peel and remove the water-soluble pattern layer (4), and the electric-wave-transmissible metallic luster layer (5) and the protective layer (6) formed over the layer (4). Next, an adhesive layer (7) is wholly or partially formed on the workpiece.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying nail tabs to roofing and building cover materials involving the steps of depositing tab material onto the surface of the roofing or building cover material, during or after its manufacture, resulting in a plurality of nail tabs from a lamination roll, and bonding the tabs to the surface of the material by pressure between the lamination roll and said surface. The method also encompasses depositing the tab material or pre-formed tabs by a pressure roll in contact with said surface. The tabs preferably are made substantially of a polymer material and may be hardened or cured by ultra-violet or visible light. The tabs may also be pre-formed and have adhesive backing.

Abstract: A wiring board is provided that suppresses spreading of liquid droplets when liquid droplets are discharged using an ink-jet method. The wiring board has a plurality of layers and includes an ink-jet wiring pattern that is formed in a soluble porous membrane member of any single layer and that includes electrically conductive nanoparticles as a principal material, and a transferred wiring pattern that does not include electrically conductive nanoparticles as a principal material. One layer among the plurality of layers is an electrically insulative substrate. Another layer among the plurality of layers is a porous membrane treated member layer including a porous membrane member at one part of a region of the other layer. The ink-jet wiring pattern is formed in the porous membrane treated member layer. The transferred wiring pattern is formed in the substrate.

Abstract: A material deposition technique is disclosed for transferring material to a substrate. The material may be a foil on a carrier and the substrate may be printable paper. A computer-controlled, material application subsystem is provided having a material roller assembly including one or more material pressing rollers. The entire assembly is configured for controlled rotation such that the material pressing rollers alternately engage and disengage an impression cylinder. In a first rotatable position, the material roller assembly is rotated so that one of the material deposition rollers over which the material carrier is fed engages the impression cylinder and deposits the material onto the substrate as it passes beneath the roller. In a second rotatable position, the material roller assembly is rotated so as to disengage the material roller from the impression cylinder thereby precluding deposition of material onto the substrate as it passes beneath the roller.
