Inserting Lamina Into Preformed Plastic Body Patents (Class 156/303.1)
  • Patent number: 8404076
Abstract: A subassembly of a Coriolis flowmeter is fabricated from a single monolithic piece of elastic polymeric material. The subassembly includes two flow-sensitive members and a base integrally connected to the two flow-sensitive members. The two flow-sensitive members include straight sections, and are substantially similar and parallel to each other. Flow passages are drilled along the straight sections of the two flow-sensitive members, and drilled entrances are sealed using the elastic polymeric material. A temperature sensor is fixedly attached to a flow-sensitive member for measuring a temperature of the flow-sensitive member and communicating the temperature to a metering electronics. The metering electronics determines a calibrated flow rate of fluid flowing through the Coriolis flowmeter that accounts for the temperature.

Abstract: The present invention includes devices and methods of forming a structural component of a transportation vehicle and preferably an automotive vehicle. The invention includes a hybrid structure, preferably formed of two or more components that are bonded together with an adhesive to form a structural component that is lighter in weight than that of traditional components formed out of metal. The hybrid component is also substantially free of an over-molding process. Advantageously, one or more snap-fits or the like may be used to position and maintain spatial relationship of the two or more components during assembly, and compression and curing of the adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7534320
Abstract: A press pad for bonding substrates into a radio-frequency and/or intermediate-frequency module. The module has a plurality of channels, each of which has an adhesive film for bonding the substrate. The press pad has a pad body conformal to the substrate and pairs of lateral protrusions extending from central axes of opposing surfaces of the pad body. The protrusions are in the forms of semicircular bumps or fins extending perpendicular to the opposing surfaces. Therefore, the lateral extent of the press pad within the channel is minimized, such that the misalignment and inclination of the press pad is minimized. Further, the lateral protrusions are fabricated from material operative to resist lateral pressure, such that deformation of the press pad caused by lateral pressure is also prevented. Therefore, pressure gradient and pressure loss are prevented.

Abstract: In a manufacturing method of a composite product, a first resin part and a second resin part are prepared. The first resin part has an opening of which inner diameter decreases in an axial direction thereof. The second resin part is inserted into the opening of the first resin part. An outer surface of the second resin part is pressed to an inner surface of the opening of the first resin part. Then a laser beam is radiated to a contacting area between the outer surface of second resin part and the inner surface of first resin part, with pressing the outer surface to the inner surface.

  • Patent number: 7294223
Abstract: A method for joining fluid containers and fluid ejectors in a fluid ejecting device are provided. The fluid container includes one or more heat stakes and a substrate includes one or more apertures for receiving the heat stakes and one or more three-dimensional features in the vicinity of the one or more apertures. The fluid ejector and optionally an elastic member are interposed between the fluid container and the substrate. Thermal energy is applied to the one or more heat stakes so that the one or more heat stakes soften to occupy the apertures and three-dimensional features of the substrate and pressure is applied to maintain contact between the fluid container, elastic member, fluid ejector and substrate. The present invention is also directed to substrate including one or more apertures for receiving heat stakes and one or more three-dimensional features in the vicinity of the one or more apertures.

  • Patent number: 6913666
Abstract: A joining pin (3.2) with which two parts (1 and 2) made from a porous material, particularly wood or a wood-like material, are to be joined together, is anchored in the porous material at predetermined anchoring points (31, 33). For this purpose, a bore (4.2) with a closed inner end (41) is made in the parts (1 and 2). The shape of this bore (4.2) is so matched to the joining pin (3.2) that it can be introduced substantially without force expenditure into the bore and is positionable in a first position. At least one predetermined anchoring point (31, 33) between the joining pin (3.2) and the wall of the bore (4.2) is formed when pressure is built up by pressing the joining pin (3.2) with a pressing force (F) more deeply into the bore to a second position. Energy is supplied in a planned manner to the joining pin (3.2) so that at the predetermined anchoring points (31, 33) the thermoplastic material of the joining pin (3.2) is plasticized.
