Patent number: 11859389Abstract: A method of making a stair nose molding is provided that includes the obtaining a flooring plank. The flooring plank includes a core layer, a padding layer covering the core layer, a first edge and a second edge. Moreover, the method includes milling the padding layer along the first edge of the flooring plank, heating the flooring plank, and positioning the first edge of the flooring plank against a first side of the molding member. Furthermore, the method includes bending the flooring plank about a curved end of the molding member to create a curved part of the flooring plank, positioning a remaining part of the flooring plank adjacent a second side of the molding member, and applying pressure to the remaining part of the plank adjacent the second side of the molding member and to the part of the plank adjacent the first side of the molding machine.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2023Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Inventor: Shahrokh Shokri

Patent number: 8393375Abstract: A commercial tape applicator capable of folding at least one side edge of a tape as it is fed to the applicator to provide an easily a gripped edge on the tape after it has been applied to the case. The invention provides a folding station on a dancer platform mounted on a dancer arm that has a nip roll at its free end and the arm is biased so that the nip roll is in contact with the periphery of a tape roll forming the source of tape and is usable to align the tape path through the folding station with the tape leaving the tape roll and accommodate deformation of the roll. A latch and cooperating cog wheel may be used to control the off feeding of the tape for the supply roll.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2010Date of Patent: March 12, 2013Assignee: Lamus Enterprises Inc.Inventor: Joe Augustine S. Patent number: 4566933Abstract: A label applicator for labeling articles moving along a path which includes a label retaining device for retaining labels at a label retaining station, a label dispenser for dispensing labels onto the label retaining device, a rotatable wheel for use in orienting articles at the label retaining station, a label transfer device for blowing a leading portion of the label on the label retaining means onto an article at the label retaining station while allowing a trailing portion of the label to remain on the label retaining device so that movement of the article past the label retaining station pulls the trailing portion of the label from the label retaining device, and a label wrap device downstream of the label retaining station for applying the trailing portion of the label to the article.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1984Date of Patent: January 28, 1986Assignee: Label-Aire Inc.Inventors: Michael Crankshaw, George A. Patent number: 4351684Abstract: A pneumatic tool for use on a robotic arm for applying adhesive tape around bundles of wire, cables and the like. Three hollow tubes are disposed in line abreast and extend from a body which includes a chamber with an inlet port to which pneumatic pressure or suction can be applied and two oppositely acting ball valves of which one is in communication with the central tube and the other is in communication with the interior of the outer tubes, which are hollow but which have a respective lateral aperture on the side facing the central tube. On the application of suction, the central tube can hold a length of adhesive tape and the tool can be advanced into contact with the bundle of wires around which the tape is to be applied. On the application of pneumatic pressure, the central tube releases the tape and the pressure applied to the interior of the outer tubes advances them forwardly, against the force of a return spring.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1981Date of Patent: September 28, 1982Assignee: Lansing Bagnall LimitedInventors: Ralph D. Patent number: 4086117Abstract: Apparatus for wrapping tape around the end of a stator coil. The apparatus advances tape from a spool to a position near the coil end, where it is clamped by clamping members and cut, and a section of the tape adjacent the leading end is pressed against one side of the coil end. The trailing end of the tape is then pushed around the opposite side of the coil end where it is received by the clamping members. The trailing end is moved by the clamping members toward the leading end to draw the trailing end tightly around the coil and press it to the leading end.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1977Date of Patent: April 25, 1978Assignee: The Globe Tool and Engineering CompanyInventor: Harold I. Patent number: 4052240Abstract: An improved box taping device of the type which propels a box past a tape applying head. The device includes means for holding a portion of the tape transverse of the box path so that it will engage the leading surface of the box and subsequently be applied along the top surface of the box as the box is propelled through the device. The device also includes means adapted to extend a U-shaped length of the tape along the trailing surface of the box after the box is taped along its top surface. During such movement one extended portion of the U-shaped length of tape is adhered to the trailing surface of the box. The extended portions of the U-shaped length of tape are separated after they extend entirely across the path and the portion not adhered to the box is retained in that position transverse of the path so that the device is ready to tape another box moved along the path.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1976Date of Patent: October 4, 1977Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Robert A.
