  • Patent number: 9169595
Abstract: A system and method for welding edge seams at the edges of fabric is presented. A method begins by lowering a fabric pre-fold bar onto a piece of fabric. A pre-aligned portion of the fabric is pushed on top of the pre-fold bar so that the pre-fold bar is between the portion of fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar and other fabric below the pre-fold bar. The fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is folded edge fabric and fabric not on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is not folded edge fabric. A folded edge is formed between these two sections of fabric. The method pinches some of the fabric at the folded end and then pulls the folded edge fabric off of the fabric pre-fold bar. After that, the method welds at least some of the folded edge fabric to the not folded edge fabric.

Abstract: An improved device and method for the application of adhesive-backed foil to the edges of stained glass and other materials is provided, the device comprising a groove comprising three or five segments—a base segment against which the glass edge is pressed onto the adhesive face of the foil; and second and third segments comprising sides extending upward from the base at an obtuse angle. Alternatively, the groove may comprise fourth and fifth segments comprising parallel sides extending vertically from the second and third segments and these being perpendicular to the base. The edge of the glass to be foiled is centered on the adhesive side of the foiling tape and pressed to the base. The angled sides initiate folding of the foil towards the side faces of the glass such that no tearing or distortion of the foil results.

Abstract: A device for removing a ring-shaped label from a pack of substantially identical, abutting ring-shaped labels comprises a pick-up head which is provided with a stop surface and retaining devices for holding a ring-shaped label against the stop surface. The device comprises a storage holder for accommodating the pack of ring-shaped labels. A displacement device can displace the pack of ring-shaped labels from a storage position, in which the pack of ring-shaped labels is situated at a distance from the stop surface of the pick-up head, to a discharge position, in which the pack of ring-shaped labels is pushed against the stop surface of the pick-up head by means of an outer ring-shaped label. A blast of air is delivered when the outer ring-shaped label is held against the stop surface of the pick-up head.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for making absorbent cores used in disposable hygiene pads, the method or device comprising three steps: (A) suctioning of wood pulp fibers mixed with super absorbent polymers into a net structure on a base tissue to form an absorbent core; (B) compressing and embossing absorbent material; and (C) shaping of the absorbent core. The method of the current invention can be used for making different kinds of absorbent pad products. While increasing the tear strength of the product, the method realizes and simplifies the process of making both the absorbent material and the hygiene pad utilizing the absorbent material on the same manufacturing line, and reduces the cost of making the absorbent pads. The absorbent core made by applying the method of the current invention has a new structure formed by super absorbent polymers and wood pulp fibers, wherein the structure enables the super absorbent polymers to be evenly distributed in between the wood pulp fibers.
