  • Patent number: 4707211
Abstract: A thermal printer and label applicator includes a transport system for moving linerless thermosensitive paper from a stack or roll thereof to a printing station and a cutting station. Thermal print head at the printing station is provided to imprint a preselected heating pattern in the linerless thermosensitive paper in order to form desired visible images thereon. A cutter is provided to separate the linerless thermosensitive paper into individual labels, and a vacuum system transports the separated individual labels from the cutting station to an adhesive activation station and thereafter to a label ejection station. At the adhesive activation station, a heater is provided to activate a delayed action adhesive on the label and thereafter a vacuum/blower system at the label ejection station causes airborne transport of the individual separated labels onto goods which have been placed in receiving position by a conveyor system.

  • Patent number: 4690721
Abstract: Apparatus for the production of multilayer laminated plates, in particular circuit boards for electrotechnical applications, wherein webs of glass fiber roving fabric are impregnated with a synthetic resin binder, and subsequently pressed in a dual belt press. Upstream of the press, a heating table comprising a plurality of heating panels is provided. The webs of material, coated with the binder, are combined and impregnated in the heating zone. In the heating zone the binder used may be maintained exactly at the processing temperature. Rapid hardening binders may be used so that the transition of the binder from its liquid to its solid state takes place in the press even during short press durations.

Abstract: Thermoplastic pipes held by a pair of clamp mechanisms are fusibly interconnected. A torque wrench moves one clamp mechanism toward the other clamp mechanism and provides a signal when the force applied is a given value. A locking mechanism is operated in response to this signal to lock the torque wrench in position. The apparatus is programmed to release the locking mechanism at the end of a predetermined time period. Changes in the programmed conditions are effected in response to changes in the size of one of the clamp mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4681650
Abstract: A machine for depositing powder in a selected configuration, fusing the configured powder into a laminate and adhering the fused laminate to a shoe substrate. A heater raises the temperature of configured powder to fuse the powder into a laminate. A pair of radially spaced holes extend downwardly through the heater through which a fused laminate underlying the holes can be observed. Configured powder is conveyed past the heater to fuse the configured powder into a fused laminate, and a remote temperature sensor is controllably displaceable from one location to a second location so that the temperature of a fused laminate below either one of said apertures can be sensed. The temperature sensor is secured at either of the two discrete locations, and the holes can be closed by pivotally mounted caps.

  • Patent number: 4678528
Abstract: An improved process suitable for continuously producing tiles which have the sharp and vivid coloring characteristics of ceramic tiles. In accordance with this process, a release paper is coated with a clear liquid plastisol layer. The clear liquid plastisol layer is given a completely smooth upper surface. A decorative design is then applied to the smooth upper surface by transfer printing. The printed plastisol is then covered with an opaque plastisol backing layer to form a cast wear layer comprising the clear plastisol layer, the printed pattern, and the opaque plastisol backing layer. The cast wear layer is then transferred to a continuous plastic base web that has been made previously so that the backing layer is in contact with the base web. The cast wear layer is laminated onto the base web, and this laminate is embossed using an engraved roll having raised sections which are images of the printed design.
