Abstract: A container-packer includes a compartment and/or compressor unit, applicators, a linear transporter for transporting along a direction, and displaceable head guides. The unit compartmentalizes and compresses containers into packs. The applicators apply adhesive to a container contact surface. The linear transporter comprises three sections. A first section has first through third part regions. In the first, transport surfaces are parallel. In the second, the transport surfaces are brought together to form respective part-packs. In the third, the part packs are transverse to the direction and transported in a direction of the second section of the linear transporter in whose first and second sections the applicators are provided. The displaceable head guides are for single-container transport in the first section. The second section comprises a turning-and-feeding section for the part-packs. The third section brings part packs together oriented in the direction to produce a complete pack.

The device would, with great precision, deliver uniform shaped media, of any size, made of plastic, carbon fiber, metal or other solid or hollow materials to a position precisely determined by a computer. Adhesive will be applied to each piece of media and an adhesive accelerant will be applied to the position the media is to be placed so that when the media contacts the prior placed media with adhesive accelerant applied, it will adhere fast. In this manner multiple pieces of uniform media can be adhered in an ever increasing number precisely positioned as determined by computer software and the computer controlled apparatus. Objects and prototypical shapes can then be created by the combination and adhesion of all the media parts.

Abstract: A segment cut core machine is disclosed. The core machine includes five basic process stations: a roll stand; a glue station; a paper feed; a take-up station; and a core cut station. The flying blade has a beveled cutting face that cuts the core stock in opposite directions from the outer edges to the center of the sheet. The beveled cutting edge reduces the “close time” of the shear and allows more core stock to be advanced into the shear. The take-up station includes a relatively flat horizontal deck and a gather adjustment gate that controls the character of the slack gathered in the sheet of core stock within the take-up station. The gate transverses over the sheet of core stock and can be shifted forward and back within the gather section of the take-up section to vary the wave length and amplitude of the gather form in the slack in the core stock.

A veneer-panel laying and interlinking device has a buffer acceleration belt with a combined reversing action. The laying device has a veneer-assembly laying belt and is embodied as a recirculating chain device with a recirculating supporting surface to form a fall-through gap, which can be moved forward and backward and raised and lowered for the front or rear veneer-panel edge and can be adjusted to the respective deposition and interleaving position on the veneer-assembly laying belt.

Abstract: A door is made from a rigid core plate, two side bars, two end bars, a pair of face panels, and a pair of cover sheets. The core plate and bars are cut to respective sizes, and then the bars are manually fitted around the core plate, are pressed against edges of the core plate to form a door core, and are secured together at corners of the core. This core is displaced on an upstream core conveyor to a core-holding station. One of the face panels is loaded manually onto a face-panel conveyor and fed thereby through a glue applicator to a face-panel holding station and one of the cover sheets is manually set in a cover-sheet holding station. The one cover sheet is picked up and laid in a stacking station, then the one face panel is picked up and set atop the one cover sheet, and then the core is picked up and set atop the face panel.

Abstract: Apparatus for applying end papers to the front and rear sides of inner books which are continuously moving along a transport path includes end paper channels extending along the transport path and feeders for isolating individual end papers from stacks and delivering the end papers into the channels for simultaneous conveyance with the inner book. The feeders position the end papers such that they are oriented substantially parallel with the sides of the inner book while delivering the end papers into the channels in the direction of inner book movement. The moving end papers are overtaken by the mechanisms which impart movement to the books and the simultaneous moving end papers and inner books are subsequently pressed together to bond the end papers to the inner book.

Abstract: A method for making hardwood or decorative plywood. The plywood includes a number plies including a back veneer, a face veneer, and a number of core and center plies. The method forms subunits of plies and stacks the discrete formed subunits to form a unit. The unit is processed to forms discrete hardwood panels. Subunits having different sets of plies are formed. The subunits are formed by sequencing the order of placement of the plies so that the face and back veneers do not touch the conveyor. This process enables line assembly of hardwood plywood. Without this sequencing, at least the back veneers would touch the conveyor subjecting the panel to aesthetic damage due to the nature of the outer veneers. This process also significantly reduced the labor necessary for forming the panels because numerous subunits can be formed simultaneously.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a bead filter for eliminating electromagnetic interference noises generated in electronic apparatuses are disclosed. The present invention improves an adhesive manufacturing process, an adhesive applying process and an adhesive drying process, so that the radial bead filters of the present invention having superior electromagnetic characteristics would be minimally affected by the adhesive, and superior bonding strengths of the radial bead filters can be maintained. The method for manufacturing the bead filter composed of a lead wire and a pair of ferrite cores for eliminating electromagnetic interferences in electronic apparatuses, includes the step of mixing 10-40 wt % of an epoxy powder and 60-90 wt % of benzyl alcohol so as to prepare an epoxy resin gel. With this epoxy resin gel, the bead filters are continuously manufactured with a simple process.

A plurality of fibers, having a greater thermal conductivity than the polymeric matrix material, is disposed in the film and extends between the top surface and the bottom surface. Each of the fibers are oriented in the film to form a fiber-to-film surface angle .theta. relative to the top and bottom surfaces that is greater than about 45.degree. but is less than arctan t/d, where t is the thickness of the film and d is the diameter of the fibers in the direction of the angle .theta.. A shear/extruder apparatus is used to form the thermally conductive film from a sheet of composite prepreg material. An upper die block and a lower die block separated by a predetermined distance form an extrusion slot therebetween.

The tabs are fed from two sources of a first material on opposing sides of a bonding station. The band is formed from a supply of a second material which is first fed to a transfer device having first and second grippers. Subsequently, a pair of ultrasonic welding horns are moved into contact with the overlapping material to fuse the band of material to the tabs. The apparatus operates under the control of a programmable controller and the length of the band may be varied by altering a length of the second material fed between the grippers of the transfer mechanism.
