  • Patent number: 6367534
Abstract: An improvement to a corner-box drywall taping tool. It uses a housing similar to the existing tools. This housing has a quick release spring-loaded one-way valve attached to the mud area of the tool. One a roll of tape is installed; the unit is attached to a mud pump by the quick release fitting. A pump then fills the housing with mud in about 20 seconds. To prevent the case from opening under the pressure of the pump, additional latches are required to seal the housing. When the mud is exhausted with this device, the operator returns to the mud pump, attaches the fitting to the pump and in another 20 seconds is ready to go. This process can be repeated until the tape supply is exhausted. In this way, the device saves a lot of time during the filling process.

The rods reciprocate 180.degree. out of phase with each other and pass through a piston assembly. Clutch mechanisms in the piston assembly engage when the rods are moving toward the head assembly and do not engage for the opposite motion. As a result the piston assembly advances toward the head assembly an increment of motion each time one of the rods moves in that direction. • Patent number: 5242495
Abstract: A combined joint compound bucket and tape dispenser comprising a cylindrical container with a removable cover. A roll of dry-wall construction tape is suspended at the top of the container beneath the cover by a rod extending through the center of the tape and engaging slots in opposite sides of the container. The container includes two slotted apertures on one side of the container and a third slotted aperture on the other side of the container. The tape is reeled from the rod, out through a first aperture, guided down along the outside of the container, back into the container at the second aperture adjacent the bottom of the container. The tape passes through mud deposited in the container and exits the container on the opposite side through the third aperture. The tape is thus coated with the mud and may be torn from the container on a serrated edge at the desired lengths. A removable guide rail is also provided to guide the tape from the first to the second apertures.

  • Patent number: 5188700
Abstract: Apparatus for laying lines in an ice rink comprises a frame for carrying a reel of paper to be dispensed onto the ice surface so that the reel runs on an axle carried upon the frame. A spray nozzle is mounted so as to spray water onto the paper after it is laid to form a first layer of ice over the paper. One embodiment provides an arrangement for laying curved lines for forming a full circle and includes a guide pole having a fulcrum pin at one end and a handle attached to the guide pole at the outer radial end for pushing the pole and thus unwinding the paper across the ice around the circle defined by the pole. An embodiment for laying straight lines includes a base frame guidable by a slot which runs across a string laid in the ice. The base frame can receive a full width reel or can be divided into separate portions to receive narrower width reels.

Abstract: A dry wall tape applicator where the tape moves through a chamber containing a taping compound and out a dispensing opening to a seam defined by two drywall panels. The dispensing opening is formed in part by an adjustably mounted plate, the position of which is controlled by a rotatable knob having an eccentric actuating stud member engaging a slot of the plate. The plate is held within close tolerances in a slideway so that the dispensing opening defines an accurately controlled slot of uniform width. The bottom wall of the housing has a convex configuration so that when the tape is in close proximity to the bottom wall, there is a proper application of the taping compound to the tape.
