  • Patent number: 8028734
Abstract: Presented herein is a unique portable electronic hand-held label dispenser that is adjustable to accommodate labels of various widths by lengthening the pins and replacing a lower guide plate, and which additionally incorporates a sensor mechanism that precisely determines the length of each label, in order to accurately advance the roll of labels according to the captured data and dispense a single label at a time, and which includes the added advantage of a unique slotted uptake wheel that efficiently collects the paper backing for easy disposal. Depressing an electronic switch causes a label to be dispensed and also activates the sensor mechanism, which allows a roll of labels to advance until the end of the next label is identified, indicating that the roll has been advanced the full length of a single label, and additionally the uptake wheel rotates to capture the discarded paper backing.

  • Patent number: 7992618
Abstract: A coating-film transfer tool is configured to positively absorb rotation of a head part caused when pressed and an effect of lean of the head part, and such a configuration contributes to favorable and uniform transfer. A member 4 is disposed at one end of a support column 2 supporting a head part 1 at the other end. A distance between the axial center of the support column 2 and its periphery varies depending on a position in the rotation direction. Sandwiching plates 3 resiliently sandwich the facing sides of the member 4 with the narrowest gap, when the head part 1 is not pressing a transfer target. When the head part 1 rotates around the axis of the support column 2 in a state pressing the transfer target, the member 4 rotates to forcibly and significantly widen the gap between the sandwiching plates and generate a restoring force.

Rolls of tape are attached to the device in a manner that allows the device to unroll lengths of tape into at least one guide and pressing mechanism. In the event that multiple lengths of tape pass through or against the guide and pressing mechanism the lengths of tape overlap and combine into a tape structure comprising multiple lengths of overlapping tape. • Patent number: 7905371
Abstract: A label dispenser for storing adhesive labels provided in a roll on a backing strip, and for applying such labels to a substrate, includes a spool wherein the roll may be fit, with the label-bearing strip being fed out of a feed opening in the spool and onto a feeding surface on the outside of the spool. The label-bearing strip is then directed onto and about a peeling lip, causing the strip to shed its label(s) as it traverses the lip. The label is then applied to any adjacent substrate, while the label-less backing strip is directed between a roller (which rolls on the substrate) and a receiving surface on the outside of the spool. As the roller rolls on the substrate, it serves to grasp the label-less backing strip and pull the label-bearing strip out of the spool interior, where it then deposits labels on the substrate as it traverses the lip.

  • Patent number: 7836931
Abstract: An automated tape head assembly for a multiple axis tape laying machine includes a tape supply reel and a tape compaction roller. Tape from the supply reel passes through the space between the two independent structures of the supply reel and compaction roller defining a tape path that substantially maintains a zero Gaussian curvature of the tape. The tape path is a curved path referred to as a compliance loop that results from a substantially or partially unrestrained curved path between the supply reel and the compaction roller. This structure allows the compaction roller to shift laterally and vertically with respect to the supply reel while the supply reel is in a fixed position with respect to the tape head assembly generally. This structure also allows the compaction roller to roll, steer, and follow the fiber tape's natural path, all with significant independence from the supply reel.

  • Patent number: 7810539
Abstract: Tools for compacting composite parts are disclosed. These tools are used while layers of composite material, such as tows or laminae, are being deposited onto a fabricating surface, such as a mold or other forming tool. The compacting tool is typically divided into a series of narrow segments, each segment able to advance or retreat individually so as to conform to the surface of a composite part being formed. Pressurized fluid, such as air or hydraulic fluid, or non-pressurized internal bladders with incompressible fluid, are used to evenly apply pressure to the segments in order to compact the material with which the tool and the segments are in contact. The compacting tool thus helps eliminate voids and helps the material conform to the desired shape on the forming tool.

When the slide member is slid toward a leading end side, a trailing end of the tape cartridge is lifted up until it abuts against a step portion in a state of riding over a tapered portion of the slide member. Thereby, it is possible to release engagement between engagement pawls and engagement holes, which are used in mounting the case body and the tape cartridge to each other.

Abstract: The invention provides a taper tool, including a movable sleeve that has flanges with inclined surfaces for use as hand-holds. The sleeve rides on bearings, which are mounted in recesses out of the user's way. A spring-loaded wireform retainer secures the bearings in their respective recesses. The retainers include quick-change tabs that hold the retainers in a servicing position that permits the bearings to be easily removed and replaced. The taper tool also includes a spool mounting assembly having a guard rod that swings out and away from a tape spool for facilitating replenishment of the tape. When the guard rod is in the closed position, it is secured by a detent located on the tape spool spindle. The spool mounting assembly includes a base, a tape spool, a spindle, a guard rod and an end protector having rounded, grippable exterior edges.

Abstract: A coating film transfer tool has a front end portion of a case main body with a head cap slidably disposed in front and rear directions between an advanced position in a state of covering a transfer head and a rear position in a state of exposing the transfer head. The head cap is urged in a direction of the advanced position by a spring, when started to be used. By pressing a front end portion of the head cap against a face, the head cap can be moved to the rear position. Inside the case main body is a tape reeling out means for reeling out a transfer tape to the transfer head. The tape reeling out means moves in cooperation with movement of the head cap to the rear position when started to be used, to be able to reel out the transfer tape to the transfer head.

The rolling tape mechanism comprises a driving gear and a drawback gear joggling with the driving gear. A drawback roll wheel pivots onto the drawback gear. A double-sided tape pivots onto the driving gear to wind the tail of tape onto the roll wheel. Double-sided adhesive is formed over the outer circumference of double-sided tape. An adjustment part pivots onto the drawback roll wheel, so when the gear is driven to joggle with the drawback gear to run, a frictional resistance is caused between the drawback roll wheel and the drawback gear to keep the tightness of drawback of the drawback release paper, preventing the release paper from being blocked on the drawback roll wheel and then the double-sided tape from not drawing back completely.
