  • Patent number: 7810538
Abstract: Method for forming a dye sublimation image in a substrate, particularly a plastic substrate, and apparatus to perform the method. According to the method taught by the present invention, a substrate is disposed on a perforated platen and a dye carrier having an image formed thereon of a dye sublimation ink is disposed on the substrate such that the image is in contact with the substrate. The substrate, dye carrier and at least a portion of the perforated platen are then covered with a flexible membrane. A clamping pressure is then applied to the substrate and the dye carrier through the membrane. Once the clamping pressure is attained, the substrate and dye carrier are first heated, then cooled.

  • Patent number: 7793698
Abstract: A bonding device that is not affected by heat and that maintains wafers to be bonded parallel to each other so as to increase the accuracy with which the wafers are bonded. Spaces are formed between a first block member and a first pressure shaft and between a second block member and a second pressure shaft. In this way, little heat is transferred from the first block member and the second block member to the first pressure shaft and the second pressure shaft and a substantially uniform temperature is maintained inside the first block member and the second block member. Stresses caused by a difference between thermal expansion of the first block member and the second block member and thermal expansion of the first pressure shaft and the second pressure shaft are relieved by deflection of the first support pillar members and the second support pillar members.

  • Patent number: 7785436
Abstract: A laminating apparatus and a laminating method for finely finishing laminate processing without performing edge processing after the laminate processing is performed to a recording medium. A laminate material having a size larger than that of the recording medium is placed to cover the recording medium, bonded with heat and pressure, and a laminate layer protruding from the recording medium is transferred to a means to be transferred to, which is arranged on an opposite plane side to a recording plane of the recording medium. When the means to be transferred to is arranged apart on the opposite plane side to the recording medium, the laminate layer is pulled into the opposite plane side to the recording medium. As a result, an edge of the laminate layer formed on the recording plane of the recording medium becomes fine, matching with an edge of the recording medium.

Abstract: Collation and welding of card component sheets can be performed in a simple facility. Plastic cards such as IC cards having substantially no distortion and twisting are provided. A round hole (17) and an ellipse hole (18) are formed at the corresponding positions in layered component sheets (19a to 19d), and positioning pins (21) are inserted and passed through respective holes. Since at this occasion, the ellipse hole (18) has play relative to the positioning pin (21), the distortion and twisting of each card component sheet can be adsorbed, and the appearance can be improved by avoiding printing dislocation and the like. It is also able to prevent mechanical strength from lowering due to residual stress.

Abstract: Apparatus and method are disclosed for the welding of thermoplastic endless belts (28). Direct current is passed through a ni-chrome wire (27) to produce enough heat such that the thermoplastic melting point of the belt material is reached. The wire is mechanically moved through the abutting thermoplastic belt. The free ends being welded are securely held together with clamping members (2) and (4). In another embodiment a ni-chrome ribbon (54) is embedded in an electrically insulated screen to produce a heated planar surface. The invention is particularly suitable for the welding of polyurethane thermoplastic belts. Because the invention is hand held and it uses battery power, it is especially adapted for welding belts in the food processing industry.
