A vertically shiftable support body in one of the housings has a row of teeth extending horizontally in a first direction. A bearing block sitting on the support body forms a pivot for the respective end of the link assembly. A screw extending through the bearing block and threaded into the support body is tightenable to bear on and fix the bearing block on the support body. A gear captured in the seat of the bearing block meshes with the row of teeth and is rotatable to shift the bearing block on the support body in the first horizontal direction in an untightened condition of the screw.

Preferably, the diameter of the bores located in the components is greater than a diameter of the attachment screws by the amount of displaceability of the hinge. In this manner, the hinge can be adjusted without detracting from the outward appearance of the hinge on the cabinet door.

    Abstract: An adjustable hinge assembly is provided for use on a ventilator apparatus, wherein the ventilator apparatus includes a curb, a removable curb cap covering the curb and presenting side and rear edges, and a ventilator supported on the curb cap. The assembly includes a pair of laterally spaced curb cap support plates that each include a first arm adapted to be secured to the curb cap and extending along one of the side edges of the cap, and a second arm adapted to be secured to the curb cap and extending along the rear edge of the cap. The assembly also includes a back plate connected to and between the support plates along the rear edge of the cap, and a pair of laterally spaced curb plates adapted to be secured to the curb. The curb plates support the curb cap support plates, and define a pivot axis about which the curb cap support plates pivot between a first position in which the cap covers the curb, and a second position in which the cap is raised from the curb.

The height of the spacer element is greater than that of the fastening plate so that a slight amount of play is provided between the head of the fastening screw supported on the spacer element and the surface of the fastening plate, so that the fastening plate can be moved for adjustment while any undesired lifting of the fastening plate is prevented.

A window opening in the second hinge leaf exposes the elongate slot and mounting screw when the second hinge leaf is attached to the mounting plate, thereby permitting adjustable positioning of the door on the cabinet frame or other mounting structure.

One of the rods is attached to the support post, the other rod is attached by mounting brackets to the gate. The pivot axis of the hinge is offset relative to the pivot axis of the other hinge, so that during swinging of the gate, its angle of inclination relative to the support post changes.

An adjustable element is provided for fixing the plate in the slot in any of the angularly offset positions. In addition the plate is displaceable parallel to the axis in the housing.

A second leaf is pivotally mounted on the mounting assembly and has one end pivotally engaged with the first leaf. A horizontally extending adjusting screw has a shank threadably engaged in the second leaf, and the end of the shank abuts the bracket so that the rotation of the adjusting screw pivots the second leaf inwardly and outwardly relative to the bracket.
